Among them is Quinn Carpenter (Megan Boone), Jillian's best friend. The day continues happily, between jokes, jokes and games in company. At dinner, while Jillian is bringing dinner to the table, a stranger breaks into the house and kills all the boys including Jillian, who initially managed to escape. The only survivor is Quinn, who manages to escape to the woods before passing out after an injury to the abdomen and shock. The story moves ten years later with Quinn who lives an apparently normal life, has a nice apartment in New York and is engaged to a very good boy named Simon (John Magaro) and also manages a highly visited cooking blog. He also has a friend, Coop (Adam Brody), the policeman who found Quinn injured in the woods and who was by his side as she re-entered the world and tried to overcome the events of that terrible evening. On the morning of a rainy day, Quinn sees the book of Lisa Livingstone (Dianna Agron), another girl who survived a massacre a few years earlier. A few days earlier, Jillian had also seen her on TV and had decided to buy the book. The next day, talk to Simon about the fact that he wants to meet Lisa and that she looks like a lively and bright girl who in recent years has built a beautiful image in society and also tries to contact her on a social network. Unlike Lisa, Quinn, in fact, still suffers from panic attacks, nightmares and remembers almost nothing that night, not even the face of the murderer even if after the investigation a young man, Billy Jacobs (Freddy Rodriguez) had been arrested. from a mental hospital on the day of the massacre and found near the homicide house. To Quinn's surprise, Lisa replies to her messages on Facebook and they can even talk for a few minutes on the phone and meet in a bar two days later. The evening before the appointment Quinn is preparing a cup of hot milk, suddenly a news on TV catches her attention and she learns from the news that Lisa was found dead in her apartment with her veins cut. Quinn is upset and does not believe that the girl killed herself, Coop tries to calm her down without great results before her friend starts to relive the events of ten years before and starts taking control of Xanax, which she has not done since bit, he has a fight with Simon for this reason.

In addition, the press begins to load the story of Lisa's death a lot and often starts to name Quinn and another girl named Samantha Boyd, another girl who had survived a murder that had involved her parents but for some time she disappeared from circulation, calling them "Final Girls". In the past Quinn had written letters with Sam to support each other until Sam suddenly wrote that he no longer wanted to write letters.

On Lisa's funeral day, Sam Boyd (Tamsin Egerton) reappears and shows up at Quinn's house saying that she has changed her name to Tina Stone to no longer be tracked by journalists. Sam and Quinn begin dating and become more and more united, even ending up in jail for shoplifting. In the meantime, the romance with Simon seems to end and the boy decides to go back to his parents for a while and Quinn looks for warmth from his friend Coop and they spend the night together. Samantha seems to have almost fallen in love with Quinn and tries to annoy her as she makes her little investigation into Lisa's death. Quinn also goes to see Billy Jacobs in prison to try and remember something.

One day Sam kidnaps Quinn and wants to take her to Pine Cottage. Quinn in a moment of carelessness of Sam managed to warn Coop telling him where they are headed. Arrives there Sam says she is not the real Sam, but to be a kind of journalist who was helping poor Lisa Livingstone find the truth about the massacre of Pine Cottage. At that moment Coop comes out into the open, who says he knew she was not the real Sam, because he had killed her years ago. Quinn is upset and begins to scream when the man says he did not like anyone investigating the Pine Cottage massacre and that he had also killed Lisa, with whom he had also had a brief affair. At that moment he stabs Sam while Quinn begins to remember everything he had seen ten years ago and finally recognizes Coop as the killer. At this point Coop stabs not deadly Quinn and kills himself saying to Quinn "You are the final girl again this time".

"It doesn't reinvent the wheel by any means, but it is a fun little thriller with a game cast. This one could probably have been a theatrical release with a more famous cast, but I actually kind of liked seeing lesser known or lesser seen actors in this story - especially Brody cast against type."
