Caesar: Steve Coogan (Greed, Stan & Ollie), Cillian Murphy (The Refugee, To the Other Side) and Douglas Booth (Excalibur, Pirate Latitudes) have signed on to round out the cast of the historical epic, Caesar. Coogan and Murphy will play Cicero and Cato the Younger, respectively, who were against the reign of Julius Caesar. Booth, meanwhile, has been cast as Mark Antony, a young general in Caesar's army. Christopher Nolan is directing the film from a script by Chad Taylor and John Malone.
Fear of the Dark: Keri Russell (Halo: The Fall of Reach, "The Americans"), Peter Sarsgaard (Misfit, Human Capital), Maisie Williams (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, How to Survive in Hell) and Sydney Sweeney (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, "Euphoria") have joined the horror film, Fear of the Dark. Russell will play a famed psychologist, Sarsgaard will play a pschiatrist, Williams will play a chatty germophobe, and Sweeney will play a hospital patient. Craig Gillespie is directing from a script by Andrew Doster.
Sleeping Beauties: Melissa George (The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, Gargoyles), Asher Angel (Shazam!, Our Father), Talitha Bateman ("Away", Robert the Bruce) and Judy Greer ("Kidding", Uncle Frank) have joined the supernatural horror film from director Sam Raimi. They will play residents of a small town that becomes home to a disease that puts all the female residents into a comatose state. Matt Parker wrote the script based on the novel by Stephen and Owen King.
Cocaine Cowboys: Jason Clarke (Torso, Star Trek: Enterprise), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (6 Underground, Greyhound) and Jacob Vargas (The 33, The Public) have joined the true crime film, Cocaine Cowboys. Vargas will play a lieutenant who helps run the drug trade in Miami. Clarke will play his right-hand man, Max Mermelstein. Garcia-Rulfo, meanwhile, will play a ruthless cartel enforcer. Michael Bay is directing the film from a script by Dwight Gallo.
Drawing Dion: Alyssa Esposito (Spare Room, "The Hill"), Jasper Pääkkönen Da 5 Bloods, "Vikings"), Ryan Eggold ("New Amsterdam", BlacKkKlansman) and John Magaro (Suburban, Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies) will round out the cast of Drawing Dion. Eggold and Magaro will play police officers, Paakkonen will play a chef, while Esposito will play a woman who encounters the main character. Joe Talbot is directing the film based on a script by Jimmy Ellis.
Blood in the Water: Riding high on the success of The Black Cat earlier this season and The Smoke in the Red Country last season, Gerard Butler (The Black Cat, The Smoke in the Red Country) has signed on to star in the shark thriller Blood in the Water. He will play a Mississippi River boat captain who finds himself on an oil rig in danger from both deadly sharks and a violent hurricane. Roland Emmerich (Midway, Independence Day: Resurgence) will direct the film, making his LRF debut. The film was written by Mark Newton (The Hulk, The Fantastic Four).
