Reaction: Much like Norse: Valhalla, Detroit: Become Human is another expensive film that has just barely made it into profitability thanks to strong foreign box office numbers. It is becoming abundantly clear so far this season that we need films to do better at the domestic box office if we're going to have any major hits.

"The story of Detroit: Become Human feels a bit cold and impersonal at times - and having android main characters only compounds this issue. The human supporting characters come across as far more interesting than the android leads played by Jennifer Lawrence and Michael B. Jordan. The android revolution storyline that becomes prominent in the finale isn't built up very well." - George Overmyer, Baltimore Magazine

"The story doesn't always work in Detroit: Become Human, with two different plot threads competing for the audience's attention throughout. The film feels a bit episodic with the scenes not always flowing greatly, but some of the individual scenes and moments are quite strong and memorable. The film's scale and ambition, as well as the direction by Denis Villeneuve, are also in top form here enough for me to recommend this to sci-fi fans." - Shawn Moseby, Fresno Bee

"Denis Villeneuve and Jack Slipter have combined the elements of Blade Runner and The Fugitive to create a captivating world that has the potential to transcend into other areas. In their latest film, Jennifer Lawrence delivers an outstanding performance that has established her as the frontrunner for awards season. Although everyone gives noteworthy performances, the script gives prominence to the leads who deliver above and beyond. With such superb acting, multiple individuals are strong contenders for top acting honors." - Gabriel Elton, Nassau Herald

Rated PG-13 for violence, language, sexual content, some drug use and thematic material
