Season 27 is off to a strong start with three profitable and well-reviewed films. Here's The Roundup....
3. Box Office
Not even I can complain about all three films to start the season having success at the box office.
2. Particle
Particle was a really interesting take on Marvel characters in a fashion that hasn't been done before. It wasn't perfect as it was a bit slow in the second act, but Clooney was good in the lead role and Davies was even better voicing Ultron.
1. Wolfenstein
Wolfenstein was everything I was hoping it would be. It had excellent action with just the right amount of horror elements. It was also nice to see Luke Evans in a rare leading role. And by basing the film around characters that aren't the main player character of the games, APJ and Chad Taylor were able to give the characters all more personality and keep things a bit more unpredictable.
3. N/A
2. Get Georgie
I just couldn't get into Get Georgie. It felt a bit too schizophrenic to me. It moved well and was never boring, but I found most of the characters a bit annoying and hard to root for. It felt like a film designed for the ADD audience that loves loud noises and bright colors (the same audience that eats up stuff like Spongebob Squarepants), but it was just too much for me.
1. Blockbusters
While all three films in this round were all successful, none of them managed to be huge blockbuster success. None of the films were the traditional hit, but I'm sure the studio was hoping would break out more than they did.
