Reaction: Particle continues the success of the mid-budget films in the studio's Marvel Universe. While films like Particle are never going to break records at the box office, it is nice to have some films that can be steady performers.
"Particle is an interesting experiment continuing Ellis and Gallo’s small-scale Marvel collaborations while bringing in one of the biggest movie stars of the last 30 years. Clooney is no stranger to one-hander sci-fi films and he carries it strongly on his back but, overall, it felt like a functioning machine with a missing part. Everything works well on the surface but I felt less fulfilled in the end than I was hoping for going in." - Phil Silva, The Atlantic
"The newest Marvel film from Last Resort Films, Particle, displays incredible ambition, which can be compared to its approach to The Lawnmower Man. George Clooney delivers an outstanding performance as the new Hank Pym (or Victor Frankenstein); however, the movie's plot follows a typical pattern, which may hinder its potential impact on the greater LRF Marvel Universe." - Phoebe Peeples, The Playlist
"Particle caught me by surprise. Despite its Marvel Universe connections, this is no superhero or action flick. Particle is a thought-provoking sci-fi take on Frankenstein with George Clooney giving one of his better performances as a scientist trying to complete his life's work while he still has the time. Clooney is outdone though by Jeremy Davies, who outshines everything else in the film with the power of his vocal performance as Ultron." - Ken Hammerschmidt, Washington Post
Rated PG-13 for violence, language and thematic material
