The Hippie Preacher: Wyatt Russell (Everything Will Be Alright, El Dorado) and Kyle Chandler (Tinseltown, Revival) are set to star in a biopic of controversial late 1960s religious figure Lonnie Frisbee. Russell will star as Frisbee, a hippie who spread evangelism to new audiences and struggled with his sexuality at the same time. Chandler will co-star with Russell as Chuck Smith, a pastor who sees the potential in Frisbee and brings him in to his church. Darren Aronofsky (Shogun, Supergirl) is set to direct the film based on a script by Alex Conn (Malik, Free the Chicago Seven!).
Resident Evil 5: Jack O'Connell (Photographs, Morrissey and Marr) and Ben Foster (Task Force X: Chaos and Madness, Hillside) are both set to return for Resident Evil 5, reprising their roles as Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker, repsectively. Their characters have not been seen since the first film in the series. In this entry, Redfield finds himself tasked with tracking down a biological weapon in Africa. Paula Patton (Hunter, Road Rash) will appear as a new character for the film series, Redfield's partner Sheva Alomar. James Wan (Resident Evil 4, Dragon Ball: The Wrath of the Demon King) is once again directing for the series having directed the four previous films as well. Similarly, Carl Flimmer (Footage from the Past, Eye of the Scarecrow) will once again write the script.
Nightcrawler: Demons of the Past: As it was announced at the latest LRF Comic-Con, Jamie Bell (Supercrooks, Care of Death) is set to star as Marvel and X-Men teleporter Nightcrawler in a solo film, Nightcrawler: Demons of the Past. Liam Neeson (Final End, Winter's Displeasure) is also set to appear in the film in a villainous capacity. Mike Flanagan (The Birds, The World: Done to Death) is set to direct the Marvel Universe production based on a script by Jimmy Ellis (Made Men, Nightwing).
Ruthersville, Brazil: Adrien Brody (The Life After, Batman: Arkham), Edward Norton (The Big One, Super Grover) and Dustin Hoffman (E.P., A Reputation) are set to star in a new drama from writer Wyatt Allen (Shoe Dog, Camp Manhood) that is loosely based on car mogul Henry Ford's failed quest to build a city in the Amazon Rainforest to supply rubber for its car manufacturing plants. Brody will play the son of a mogul played by Hoffman tasked with carrying out the goal. Norton will play a scientist. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (The Killings, The Revenant) is set to direct the film.
The Girls: Jodie Foster (The Driftwood Populace, The Vacationers) is set to star in and direct the film The Girls, based on the novel by Emma Cline. She will play an older woman still trying to live a normal life after time spent with a dangerous Manson-esque cult when she was younger. Millie Bobby Brown (X-Men: Sinister, Beartown) will play the younger version of Foster's character, Domhnall Gleeson (At the Mountains of Madness, The Wonder) will play the cult leader, while Julia Garner (Task Force X: Chaos and Madness, Haven) has been cast as a woman involved with the group. The adaptation was written by Rosie JoLove (The Vacationers, Excellent Women).
Batman: Knightfall: Jake Gyllenhaal (Batman: In the Shadows, Control) is once again set to return as Bruce Wayne/Batman opposite Dave Bautista (Man Made Machine, The Fall Guy: Trouble in Tahiti) as Bane, which was announced at the Season 27 LRF Comic-Con, in case you missed it. Taron Egerton (Titans: Evil Incarnate, Nightwing) and Jonathan Pryce (Birds of Prey, Mexican Gothic) are reportedly set to return once again as Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. Joseph Kosinski (At the Mountains of Madness, Batman: In the Shadows) is back to direct this film which is reportedly inspired by the Knightfall storyline in the comics. This entry is once again from a script by APJ (Uncharted 4, Batgirl).
