Michael travels throughout Asia, killing any vampire he can find. While in a Tibetan village, he learns from Shu Li (Maggie Q) that vampirism originated in the Balkan Mountains. Michael heads to Bulgaria where he encounters Shu Li again, who reveals that she too is a vampire hunter. They team up on their mission, eventually discovering that a local crime lord, Xander (Raoul Bova), has teamed up with the vampire Dragan (Danila Kozlovsky). Michael and Shu Li witness Dragan take out an entire Interpol strike force on behalf of Xander and begin to suspect he must be a master vampire. Michael goes to a local MMA fight, where he recruits aging fighter Piotr (Oleg Taktarov) to join the mission to kill Xander and Dragan. Armed to the gills, Michael, Shu Li and Piotr break into Xander's hideout and kill all of his henchmen. Xander himself threatens to blow everyone up with a bomb, but Dragan stops him. Dragan attacks, easily tossing Piotr and Michael aside. He then kidnaps Shu Li before vanishing. Michael and Piotr explore the hideout, finding an entire lair of vampires in the basement waking up. They quickly escape the building, but not before setting up Xander's bomb. The vampire lair is destroyed, and Michael and Piotr vow to track down Dragan and rescue Shu Li, if she can still be helped.
