Plot: Prologue
This is an alternate world where War is a common thing nobody can remember a time when two nations were not involved in war. In this world full of War there are three countries who share a city "Mount Mirefield" which lies on the border of all the three countries. The three warring countries are "Ordon", "Meadowdell" and "Shah Blea". The city gives enough reasons to each of them to start a war.
We see a disgruntled court-martialed James Potter (Michael B Jordan) living in solace in a small town. He notices that he is being watched and followed, He goes back to his house and prepares for the imminent. After some time Sasha Xu (Fan Bingbing) enters her house and searches around. James Potter sneaks behind her and attacks her. After some fighting behind them Sasha overpowers James but James pulls out a gun on her and asks her why is she her to which she replies that she is on official business for their country "Meadowdell" and have a proposition for him.
Two years back
We see James in his army uniform being escorted in to a room. There he is greeted by Charlie (Clive Owen), who says that he has a proposition for him. He like to use him in a 3 man mission to be taken place in "Mount Mirefield". James and Charlie will be accompanied by Z Cheng (Lewis Tan) on the mission. The mission is to grab a high ranking army chief of "Shah Blea" who will be on a secret vacation in "Mount Mirefield".
Present
Sasha Xu takes James to a secret government facility, where she explains with the current war between "Meadowdell" and "Shah Blea" on full swing they don't have any good agents at disposal and they have intelligence that "Ordon" are planning to take advantage of the war and planning something big against "Meadowdell". They need someone to infiltrate the high command of "Ordon" and know about their plans. Sasha explains that this where Mr Potter comes in, he will be the double agent who will infiltrate the high command. He has been selected because of his good track record in infiltrating terror outfits during his time in army. James reminds Sasha that he has been court-martial-ed from the army and he no longer shares the love of the motherland like her and refuses to be part of the plan until there is some high incentives for him. After some heavy persuasions and huge amounts of money transferred to James offshore accounts James joins the mission. After James joins in, Sasha gives more details about the mission like the rendezvous point, the ways of communication and then calls in someone to join them. Alexia Hurley (Alicia Vikander) enters the room, a native "Ordon". Sasha introduces Alexia to James and says that she will be your handler in "Ordon" she will help you join the "Ordon" High Command as a footman and will introduce you to some key people who you two have to manipulate in to gathering information. James shows skepticism why an "Ordon" citizen will help them to which Alexia replies that she is tired of the Fatherland bullshit and the same bullshit consumed her whole family and village. She needs vendetta against the "Ordon" high command and their fatherland and this is the only way she can do that. After the briefing finished when both Alexia and James left the hall a mysterious person joins Sasha in the hall. The mysterious person is none other than Charlie, to whom Sasha asked will James be able to do it and Charlie replies he believes James will do it.
Two Years back at Mount Mirefield
Charlie, Z and James are seen scouting the army chief location and coming up with a way to get inside the hotel and grab the chief. Z and James are worried that Charlie doesn't have strong exit plan but Charlie stills make them go ahead with the plan. Charlie and Z were planned to provide the backup while James will infiltrate the hotel room in which the chief is staying and then get out but when he enters the room he finds General (Mads Mikkelson) inside who congratulates James on a job well done but says that they knew James and his team is coming for him that's the reason why 50 students of a "Meadowdell" school are holed up in the same hotel with his detail aiming their guns on them on pretense of a field trip. James inform Charlie about it but Charlie doesn't want to change the plan and get General to their country. General listening this says James that the choice is yours take me or save the children to which James decide that he will save the children and move towards the amphitheater where the students are present without the knowledge of the imminent danger they are in. Charlie reacts to James action by sending Z to capture General and he goes to get the exit vehicle ready. James swoops in the amphitheater and slowly tries to recognize which people are from General detail and then take them down while revealing the danger to the students. James helps in their escape and gets out with the children in their bus from which he sees Z is successful in capturing General but when he nears their exit vehicle with Charlie inside him, Z is shot in the head and seeing that Charlie makes the escape while General smiles seeing James and Charlie escaping revealing nearly 50 more soldiers in the nearby building were there to kill them if they try to take the General.
Present in Ordon
Alexia shows James around so he can learn the area, puts him in an abandoned building to communicate with Sasha and "Meadowdell" and enrolls him into the "Ordon" army whose part Alexia is already is. Alexia informs James that Skull (Jamie Foxx) will be in their town and that they should try to be in good terms with him as he is the right hand of an "Ordon" High Command member while in background in the TV. Representatives of "Meadowdell" and "Shah Blea" which are Mr. Joan (Martin Freeman) and Miss Rachel (Angela Bassett) are engulfed in a heated debate about who is the reason behind the two year long war between the countries while representative of "Ordon" Mr. Ramiz (Forest Whitaker) tries to pacify them. Alexia and James meets Skull and his entourage in a casino owned by Skull where Skull informs them that there are reports of scouts from other countries are hiding in this town and he is here to investigate and solve that little problem before Ronald Gooch (Brandon Routh), an "Ordon" High Command officer takes part in a rally in this town. Skull and James starts to bond over a game of poker but by the end of the game they both become wary of each other to the dismay of Alexia. James is in his abandoned building communicating with Sasha to inform her about that a certain member of "Ordon" High command will be visiting the town and he will try to get close to him while he was relaying information he hears some one entering the building, when he checks it he sees it to be Skull and his entourage. He puts on a makeshift mask to hide his face and pack his things and tries to escape which starts a rooftop chase between him and Skull's entourage. He is somewhat successful in breaking Skulls Entourage and losing some of them, the ones who were left were slowly killed by him in a fight. James meets Alexia and tells her about the incident and Alexia suggests they should keep their head down for some time.
Alexia and James are summoned by Skull at his casino. When both of them arrive there, both of them and Skull is surprised by the arrival of Ronald there. Ronald informs that they are preponing the rally but Skull advises against it saying that there is an imminent danger surrounding the city which needs to be dealt first. Gooch ignores his warning and goes ahead with the rally.
At the rally where Alexia and James are part of security, Gooch starts to deliver a speech in the middle of it some miscreants starts creating trouble, the security tries to get them but they realize that this is just a distraction and the real miscreants attack the stage and tries to grab Ronald Gooch. To keep the security from reaching them they detonate some small bombs that help them in escaping but James doesn't lose their tail and follows them to a warehouse. After thinking what to do for a while he decides to go in alone. He successfully enters the warehouse and easily dislodges the nearly 10 men who tried to capture Gooch and escapes with him. Gooch takes a liking towards James Potter and helps him climb the ladders of the army in just mere days.
During a meeting, Skull interrupts them to open the TV to watch the news where they saw Mr Joan and Miss Rachel saying that the countries are going to sign an armistice. Listening to the news, Gooch lights up and calls for a meeting with the High Command and invites Skull, Alexia and James to join him.
After the meeting James hurries to his hideout place and starts to communicate with Sasha and inform her that "Ordon" was waiting for "Meadowdell" and "Shah Blea" to sign an armistice so when the soldiers are sent back to their homes they plan to launch an attack of massive scale on "Meadowdell" from the north of "Mount Mirefield". It would take 4 weeks for them to put everything in place and reach the location. James suggests a counter plan that instead of sending their whole army back home they take 3/4th of their army to the mountains from where the "Ordon" are planning to attack nearly a week before "Ordon" army reach their and then we hide our army in the mountains and trap the "Ordon" army in the Mount Mirefield Canyon and kill them all. Sasha says she will run this with her superiors and will get back to him. After James disconnects the communication, Sasha is shown to be in a meeting room with Charlie and other higher officials where Charlie pushes they do what James suggested but he tells other that this mission his quick thinking and James just offered the intelligence. Sasha relays to James that they are going with what he suggested.
Two Years Back at Meadowdell
James try to attack Charlie when he sees him at one of their bases but is restrained by other officers and is brought to a room where Charlie comes and blames James for them losing a high profile target but Charlie says you are responsible for that and death of a Meadowdell soldier to which Charlie replies that he shuts his mouth or get ready to be buried, thank the God that he will just be court martial for his actions and not killed. James fearing his life accepts his fate.
Present At Mount Mirefield Canyon
Sasha accompanies the Meadowdell Army in the canyon where they will set camp for few days and in the next days will spread out in the mountains waiting for Ordon army. Sasha after scouting the area goes back to her head quarters to report back and take command of the mission from their where she finds out Charlie somehow took over her role as the commanding officer of this mission. In the late night Sasha gets calls from the camp that they are being attacked from all the sides. Sasha immediately tries to contact James but Alexia answers her call and in a very worried tone tells Sasha everything is lost, we have been played and soon turn her tone towards into a mocking tune and insults Sasha for being such a gullible fool after that James took over the call and informs Sasha if she has yet to put the pieces in to the place he will help her and says he have defected to Ordon way back for more than double the price you are giving me and this all plan was concocted by him. The Ordon army instead of 4 weeks only took 2 weeks to get in their places and waited for the Meadowdell army to kill them like sheep. James also ask Sasha to relay his greetings to Charlie whose presence was noticed by James way back. We see James, Alexia, Skull and Ronald leading their army to slaughter the Meadowdell Army.
Ordon army celebrates their victory, Ronald decides that they will spend the night in the canyon as they need some rest before they move ahead with their plans. James and Alexia celebrate the victory by sleeping together.
In the morning Ronald notices James going somewhere and overhears him talking to someone about that they are in place and that they should make their move now. Ronald confronts James about it, to which James replies that there partnership was only till here, now he moves on to someplace else and he can't take him there, James complements that Ronald is a good and loyal man and starts to leave to which Ronald asks is there anything he can do and James replies no my other partner is 10 steps ahead of you. Ronald accepts his fate and asks James that he deserves to die by the hand of the person who defeated him and that is him and pleads with James to kill him instead of letting him to die here in the hand of someone else to which James stabs him and leaves.
After some time Alexia and Skull come there trying to find James and Ronald and find the dead body of Ronald with a note which said Sorry the price was tripled signed by James. Skulls loses his control and says he never trusted him and starts arguing with Alexia that she brought him here. There argument is disturbed by distressed soldier who says that 5 fighter planes are heading towards them. Alexia and Skull reach the camp they notice only two of the fighter planes are involved in attacking the camp while the other three are trying to circle. After some thinking Alexia and Skull both understood what the planes were going to do. They were gonna attack the exit points which will create landslides and trap their army inside for a a good amount of time and casualties. Both try to warn as many as soldiers to make a run for to escape the canyon but the planes start dropping their missiles and trapping them, Alexia and Skull are successful in escaping with a few soldiers. They both decide they will track James and make him pay for it but in their own ways.
In Mount Mirefield City
James meets General and thanks him for giving this opportunity and asks him how he delivers all that lies to Charlie ears, to which General replies he will learn soon but he is more grateful to him that he has given him this glorious opportunity to capture both the enemy land. General informs James that reports confirm both Alexia and Skull have escaped and are heading towards him and he better hide. James says that he will be waiting for them to put an end to this, to which General replies he will gladly provide him any help and gets a lists of items James require.
James is waiting at a ranch with all the weapons he need. Skull and his gang reaches the location. James mocks them over microphone and dares them to come and try to get him. What ensues is a Punisher esque gunfight scene between them in which a bloodied James comes victories. As James is coming out of the he is jumped by Alexa with a gun as she was going to shoot him, Sasha comes behind Alexa with a gun saying she will be the one who will kill James. James seeing this breaks in to a laugh and start saying a monologue about how they are trapped in fake things and he has freed himself, Screw the Motherland, Screw the Fatherland he is making his own land now. He uses the monologue to distract then and throw away their guns. The trio engages into a hand fight in which somehow James knocks both of them out. He calls General and says him to send an ambulance here and he is ready fro his next target.
