With the release of the Mass Effect spin-off, Mass Effect: Cerberus, rapidly approaching writer Seth Overton (Mass Effect, Steins Gate) has written a teaser trailer for the project.
TEASER TRAILER
The Illusive Man (Martin Sheen - V.O) : Judge us not by our means...
*An armed man in a Cerberus uniform (Bradley Cooper) comes out of a secluded alley and points his gun at a batarian alien.
*Another man in a modern looking samurai suit (Will Yun Lee) is surrounded by a group of mercenaries and swiftly finishes them off with his sword.
The Illusive Man (Martin Sheen - V.O): ...but by what we seek to accomplish.
*A woman in a labcoat (Cate Blanchett) walks up the stairs into a hallway, revealing the "ASCENSION PROJECT" logo on a wall. She enters a room with her name on the door "DR. KAHLEE SANDERS". The man from the previous shot (Bradley Cooper) is in the room with a child (Fatima Ptacek).
Kahlee Sanders (Cate Blanchett): Mr. Paul Grayson?
Paul Grayson (Bradley Cooper): Yes, ma'am!
Kahlee Sanders: Then you must be Gillian!
*The girl shies away from Kahlee and hides behind her father.
Paul Grayson: I apologize, she has a hard time warming up to others...
CUT TO:
*Two girls are bullying Gillian. In an act of self defense she uses her biotic powers and throws them across the room. She is brought to the principal's office where she sees her father looking worried.
Kahlee Sanders: You did the right thing bringing her here.
Paul Grayson: So what exactly is this place?
Kahlee Sanders: The Ascension Project is an initiative to help biotics like your daughter maximize their potential in the field and integrate themselves into society.
CUT TO:
*Gillian trains alongside other students using her biotic abilities. A man wearing a uniform with the tag Chief of Security Hendel Mitra (Mike Colter) smiles at her and playfully ruffles her hair.
Kahlee Sanders: But most importantly... it is a place where she can feel safe.
Paul Grayson: Promise me you'll be good, alright sweetie?
CUT TO BLACK
The Illusive Man (Martin Sheen - V.O.) : Salvation comes with a cost.
*A visibly scared Gillian is brought out of a room into a hallway by a man in a white labcoat. (Ken Watanabe)
*He straps her into a chair while she screams and prepares an injection.
The Illusive Man (Martin Sheen - V.O.) : Strength for Cerberus is strength for every human.
*A gravely wounded Paul Grayson fights the man in the samurai suit in a warehouse.
Paul Grayson: What the hell did you do to my daughter?!
Kahlee Sanders (V.O.): I swear I had nothing to do with it!
Hendel Mitra (V.O.) : Don't you see it, Grayson? This is your fucking fault. You brought them here.
*Armed men in Cerberus uniforms are occupying the Ascension Project building.
*Paul Grayson jumps over Gillian to protect her from a blast.
*Hendel Mitra shoots at the Cerberus soldiers and then takes cover.
*The man in the samurai suit laughs maniacally.
Kahlee Sanders (V.O.): I'm afraid we might need your help with this.
*A man in an Alliance uniform takes off his helmet. It's Admiral David Anderson (Andre Braugher).
The Illusive Man (Martin Sheen - V.O.) : Because Cerberus is humanity.
