Reaction: Our first box office disappointment of the season. We marketed as well as we could, but this is just the kind of film that isn't going to be a huge hit, and dramas and comedy both do notoriously poorly overseas due to the translation problems.

"Just when things really start to heat up, the film decides to end with a cop-out of an ending, telling us that the most intriguing parts of the story didn't actually happen." - Michael Van Patten, Slant Magazine

"The cast is fairly talented, but it is Billy Crudup and Jason Segel who truly stand out. In a film where many of the characters come across as dimwitted or shrill, they both feel like real lived-in human beings" - Desmond Rogers, TIME Magazine

"The film is a disappointing departure from the unique genre fare Ana Lily Amipour has been building her young career off of. Her talents are wasted here. The story isn't bad so much as it is too standard for such a visionary filmmaker to be wasting time on." - Clark Davis, JoBlo.com
