After: Matt Smith (The Queen of the Night, Batman: Arkham), Niles Fitch ("This Is Us", Miss Virginia) and Michael Madsen (The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth, The Reign of Lady Morgana) will round out the cast of the post-apocalyptic thriller After from director Peter Berg and writer Meirad Tako. Smith will play a soldier, Madsen will play the leader of a city, while Fitch's role has not been revealed.
The Hit Maker: Stephan James (A Following, Tenth Circle), Kelvin Harrison Jr. (The Trial of the Chicago 7, Waves) and Alicia Keys (Smokin' Aces, The Nanny Diaries) have signed on to the Christian Bale-led Frank Farian biopic. James and Harrison Jr. will play the faces of Milli Vanilli: Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. Keys will play a singer in one of Farian's other music groups. Craig Brewer is directing the film based on a script by Chad Taylor.
Kylie Dates New York City: Reese Witherspoon will be joined in her upcoming Nancy Meyers directed rom-com by Adam Scott (Heights, Survivor), Chris O'Dowd ("Get Shorty", Molly's Game) and Henry Golding (The Gentlemen, Last Christmas). They will each play one of Witherspoon's potential suitors. Scott will play a mild-mannered middle school math teacher, O'Dowd will play a popular TV chef, while Golding will play a vain male model. Rookie writer Walter McKnight has penned the film.
Justice League Dark: As we learned at the first LRF Comic-Con, Ryan Gosling (Excalibur, The Killings) will return as The Question for Justice League Dark, presumably continuing the plot thread from his credits scene in Justice League International. He will be joined in this supernatural superhero team-up film by Alexander Skarsgard (Halo 6, Swamp Thing) and Colin Farrell (Constantine: The Hellblazer, The Stranger), who will be reprising their roles as Dr. Alec Holland/Swamp Thing and John Constantine, respectively. J.A. Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Birth of Frankenstein) has signed on to direct the film from a script by APJ (The Birds, Hawkworld) and Jimmy Ellis (Zatanna, Lady Red).
The Smoke in the Red Country: Gerard Butler (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) has signed on to star in an upcoming Cold War-era action film, The Smoke in the Red Country. The film has tasked Tomas Alfredson (The Snowman, Tinker Tailor Solider Spy) to direct the film based on a script by Meirad Tako (Mr. Earthling, Hotel California).
Peter and the Shadow Thieves: 15 Seasons after Peter and Starcatchers was released in Season 2, the film will finally have a sequel. Jon M. Chu (The William Hung Story, Peter and the Starcatchers) will return to direct. However, Wesley Campbell (Bone, Saga) will replace Clive Steinbeck as writer. Wyatt Oleff (Born in Brooklyn, Peter and the Starcatchers), Rowan Blanchard (Revolution, Peter and the Starcatchers) and Luke Evans (The Birds, The Phantom of the Opera) have all signed on to reprise their roles from the first film as Peter Pan, Molly Aster and the villainous pirate Black Stache, respectively. The film is based on the novel by Dave Berry and Ridley Pearson.
