In Development


Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius: Megan Mullally (Crush, Summering), Jahzir Bruno (The Witches, "The Really Loud Houde") and Andrea Martin ("Evil", Little Italy) have been teppaed to fill out the cast of the live-action animated film/series adaptation/reboot, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. The family sci-fi adventure, based on the Nickelodeon property, is being directed by Pete Docter from a script by Jacob Jones.

Pompeii: Director Francis Lawrence's big budget adaptation of Robert Harris' novel Pompeii has added Malachi Kirby ("Small Axe", Boiling), Noma Dumezweni (The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins Returns), Eddie Marsan (Birds of Prey, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars) and Matt Nable (Lancelot, Poker Face) to its cast. Kirby and Dumezweni will play slaves working on the property of the villain played by Eric Bana. Marsan and Nable will play aquaduct workers who work on the system that carries water throughout the region that has seemingly run dry. Mark Newton penned the adaptation.

Anastasia: Ioan Gruffudd ("Harrow", Ava), Radha Mitchell (We Know Where You Live, Supergirl), Carol Kane ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", The Dead Don't Die) and Tinsley Price (The Monster Squad, Nomad) have joined Anastasia, a live-action adaptation of the famed animated film.  Gruffudd and Mitchell will play the title character's parents, the rulers of Russia. Kane will play the head mistress of an orphanage, while Price will play a younger version of the main character. Bryce Dallas Howard directs the film from a script by Walter McKnight.

The Maid: The ensemble cast of The Maid, an adaptation of the novel by Nita Prose, has filled out with the additions of Laura Carmichael ("The Spanish Princess", Downton Abbey: A New Era), Louis Mustillo (Wetlands, "Mike & Molly"), Alison Pill ("Star Trek: Picard", Vice) and Buffy Sainte-Marie (The Broken Chain). Susanne Bier directs the film from an adaptation penned by Rachel Hallett Hardcastle.

Territory: Martin Sensmeier (The Only Good Indians, Hex), Gil Birmingham (Pocahontas, Hawkworld), Graham Greene (Antlers, Molly's Game) and Rod Rondeaux (Hostiles, Mekko) have joined the Vince Vaughn and Grace Dove-led mystery film, Territory. Sensmeier will play the son of a Native chief who becomes a suspect in a high-profile murder of a cop. Birmingham will play Sensmeier's father, the tribal chief. Greene will play a tribal police officer, with Rondeaux playing a homeless man from the nearby reservation. S. Craig Zahler directs the original story from writers Dwight Gallo and Jimmy Ellis.

Sam: Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Ghost Town, The Hit Maker) is set to star in a biopic of "Bring It On Home To Me" and "Wonderful World" singer Sam Cooke. Chad Taylor (Miracles, Revival) penned the script, which is being helmed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King, The Old Guard). Keke Palmer (Zoe's Vegas, Jurassic Park: Another Adventure), Jonah Hill (A Life, Missoula) and Yara Shahidi (Nobody, Peter Pan & Wendy) have also joined the project.  Palmer will play Cooke's second wife Barbara, Hill will play Cooke's manager, while Shahidi will play Cooke's first wife.
