3. Awards Races
While the first half of the season was looking a little light on award contenders, I think that Pompeii and Time Out! both bring multiple possible nominees into the mix.
2. Pompeii
Aside from the film's massive box office success, I also thought that the film is one of the better novel adaptations in recent seasons. The film takes what I understand to be a complex novel
1. Time Out!
I really enjoyed Time Out! The genre mix took a little bit to get used to, but the script by Buck and Taylor does a great job weaving its characters through the story. Plus the film is a great showcase for Patrick Wilson, who rarely gets a chance for such a meaty starring role.

2. Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius
The story itself wasn't terrible, but it was definitely too long and a bit slow at times. The casting of the film didn't seem up to snuff for a possible Hollywood franchise.

Ouch. Even the success of Pompeii only barely managed to cancel out the box office failure of Jimmy Neutron and Time Out!
