Sam: Eva Noblezada (Yellow Rose, Easter Sunday), Loretta Devine (Alex + Ada, The Watsons Go to Birmingham) and Eric Allan Kramer ("Lodge 49", Atlas Shrugged Part III: Who Is John Galt?) will round out the cast of the Sam Cooke biopic, Sam, from director Gina Prince-Bythewood and writer Chad Taylor.
Tomato Can: Nicolas Cage (Carpenter, Twisted Metal), John Goodman (The Sandman, Bastion) and Richard Madden (Among Us, The Last of the Mohicans) are set to join Alicia Vikander and Jenna Ortega in the boxing drama Tomato Can. Cage will play a ruthless boxing promoter, Goodman will play Vikander's trainer, and Madden will play Vikander's husband and biggest supporter. The film is being directed by Derek Cianfrance from an original story by Mo Buck.
Wonder Woman: Labyrinth: Jake Weary (Booster Gold: Back in Time, "Animal Kingdom"), Ralph Ineson (Booster Gold: Back in Time, The Betrothed) and Camila Mendes (The Day, Booster Gold: Back in Time) are set reprise previous DC Comics Universe roles in Wonder Woman: Labyrinth as Jason, Hephaestus and Donna Troy, respectively. In addition to the familiar faces, some new talents will be joining the film with Christopher Lambert (Kickboxer: Retaliation, Bel Canto) set to play Hades, while Paula Patton (Hunter, Road Rash) will play Etta Candy. Kathryn Bigelow directs from a script by D.R. Cobb.
Camping: Ti West's LRF debut is lining up quite the impressive ensemble cast for a horror film with Justin Prentice (Eye of the Scarecrow, Uncharted 4), Grace Van Patten (Of Rocks and Sand, Splinter Cell: Blacklist) and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Boogie, Bliss) signing onto the project. The film is based on a script by Billy Cruder.
Namor the Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex: Coming back from the first Namor the Sub-Mariner film will be Jay Ryan (The Guest List, Namor the Sub-Mariner), Samara Weaving (The Devil's Run, Detroit: Become Human) and Logan Browning (The Hit Maker, Namor the Sub-Mariner). Ryan will be back as Todd Arliss, who becomes the villainous Tiger Shark in this sequel. Weaving will be back as Lady Dorma and Browning will be back as Carrie Alexander - the two women in Namor's life. Also joining the film will be John Hawkes (Pirate Latitudes, 7 Days) as Lemuel Dorcas, a scientist experimenting with the genetics of sea-life. JC Chandor is back as director with John Malone once again penning the script.
The Giver of Stars: Hot off the success of Pompeii, Emma Watson (Pompeii, Northrock) has signed on to star in an adaptation of the novel The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes about a group of women delivering library books to people in the mountains of Kentucky during the Great Depression. Carrie Coon (Collapse, Green Lantern Corps: Sinestro War), Cary Elwes (The Night Swim, Wolfenstein) and Freddie Stroma ("Peacemaker", "Bridgerton") have also joined the project, which will be directed by Lorene Scafaria (Birds of Prey, Hustlers). The film is based on an adaptation penned by Abbie Q (The Guest List, Bunny).
