#VideoGameAdaptations
This season has already seen three video game adaptations, with another handful in the works or set for release over the next few seasons - including two next season alone. Both in and out of LRF, it looks like we may be entering a bit of a "golden age" of video game adaptations. APJ and Chad Taylor have been at the forefront of that with high-quality action-packed productions like Wolfenstein.
#DCSequels
We just had the 5th Batman film, but in the coming seasons we will also be seeing sequels for Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Task Force X, Superman, Constantine, Nightwing and more. In fact, there will be far fewer debuts than sequels in the near future.
#SuperheroSubgenres
Another growing trend is the shift of the superhero genre into some new, less well-worn genres like Horror, Martial Arts, Spy, Supernatural, etc. Writers are finding new ways to superhero films outside of the traditional genres, making for less predictable films on the big screen. Only time will tell if it becomes a lasting trend, or a short-lived trend.
