Reaction: Becoming the third highest grossing film of all-time, clearly our Batman film series is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office even in the fifth entry.

"Writer APJ is really hitting on all cylinders between this and Green Lantern Corps: Sinestro War. Knightfall proves that even in its 5th entry, LRF's Batman series is not losing any steam or dipping in quality. Dave Bautista is great as the villain, while Jake Gyllenhaal gets to show a different side of Bruce Wayne/Batman in this one than the previous four films showed." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"The Batman series from writer APJ and director Joseph Kosinski continues to be the benchmark of blockbuster filmmaking from Last Resort Films. This time they adapt a pretty famous storyline from the comics and do it as much justice as possible - possibly even besting it in some ways. With the size and scale of the action and drama in this film, I do wonder where the series can go from here, but I will be happy to follow along for the ride." - Oliver Lance, Seattle Star Tribune

Although Dave Bautista's portrayal of Bane is massively impressive and the action scenes are thrilling to watch, the film's focus on visual spectacle detracts from any significant character development and/or personal drama. The Batman v. Bane dynamic is well-executed, but the presence of other well-known (and unnecessarily needed) characters makes Bane feel like a simple 'villain of the week' at times." - Sara Meyers, Times (UK)

Rated PG-13 for intense action violence, scenes of peril, thematic material and some sensuality
