Stained: The supporting cast for this Matthew McConaughey-led Clinton sex scandal film is apparently still in flux as the Craig Gillespie directed project is undergoing some last minute changes to its plot. Expect to see some faces in on the screen that were not previously announced. A couple of faces you can definitely expect to see though are Lindy Booth ("The Librarians", Kick-Ass 2) and Hank Azaria (Lovelace, "Brockmire"). Booth will play Paula Jones, a former Arkansas government employee who sued Bill Clinton for sexual harassment, while Azaria will portray Leon Panetta, Clinton's Chief of Staff (and Monica Lewiniski's supervisor).
Dark Places: Andy Serkis (Peter and the Starcatchers, Black Panther), Peyton Roi List (The Outcasts, "Bunk'd") and Alice Englert (Hellraiser, "Top of the Lake") have been signed to round out the cast of H.G. Hansen's new adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel. Serkis will play a rare dramatic role as the homeless father of Katherine Waterston's lead character, while the details on the other roles have not been announced.
Mr. Big: The last film James Morgan wrote before taking his announced break from writing is continuing to add cast members. Morgan Freeman (Into Thin Air, Going In Style), John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, Pressing Luck), Stephan James (The Job, Race) and Quvenzhane Wallis (Fathers and Daughters, Annie) have all joined the Kathryn Bigelow-directed crime-drama. Freeman plays an ex-cop, while James and Wallis play his grandchildren.
The Carpet Makers: The ambitious sci-fi drama from writer Seth Overton, The Carpet Makers, has added Ed Harris (Halo 3, White Tiger), Rachel Weisz (Disobedience, Denial) and Oscar Isaac (Ranger, Grand Theft Auto) to the cast. Isaac will play a teacher, Weisz will play one of Colin Farrell's wives, and Harris will play a galactic emperor. Bong-Joon ho is directing the film.
The Squared Circle: Paul Thomas Anderson (Phantom Thread, American Outlaws) is back at work for the studio, taking the helm of a wrestling-themed drama written by Golden Reel winner Chad Taylor (Pressing Luck, Trip). Daniel Day-Lewis was offered the lead role of a past-his-prime legendary professional wrestler, but he has apparently turned down the role and chosen to stay retired. Instead, Taylor and Anderson have turned to Mel Gibson (Daddy's Home 2, Blood Father) to fill the lead role. Tom Hardy (Numero Uno, Mass Effect 2) will play the other lead role, that of Gibson's son who has chosen to avoid his father's lifestyle.
Plastic Man: APJ (Uncharted, Batman: Gotham Knight) is back with another DC Comics film, this time bringing Plastic Man to the big screen for the first time. Glenn Howerton ("A.P. Bio", "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") has landed the lead role of Patrick "Eel" O'Brian, a safe cracker and thief, who gains special abilities after a job gone wrong. Howerton was reportedly the first and only choice for the lead role. Rawson Thurber Marshall (Skyscraper, Central Intelligence) has been hired to direct the film.
