Reaction: Strong numbers, but the lowest of any of the Mass Effect series films. There is definitely a market for the spin-off films, but without Henry Cavill front and center, it is a slightly smaller, slightly more niche audience.
"Somehow Silent Assassins has managed to make the Mass Effect universe bigger in scope and more intimate at the same time. It's really quite the feat if you think about it. The film takes you to new corners of the universe, while managing to be more character-driven than most films of its ilk." - Charles Triano, Los Angeles Times
"At first, the heavy CGI applied on top of the actors' performances was a bit much, but quickly the quality of the performances and writing took over. By the end, the motion capture performances ended up coming across as more human than the human characters in many other blockbusters." - Tom Lane, Detroit News
"Mass Effect: Silent Assassins takes the franchise to new heights from a storytelling perspective. Perhaps it's the influence of a director like Duncan Jones, but the entire format is different than the other films in the series, taking it in a new darker, more emotional direction - something that seemed to start with the ending of Mass Effect 2 and has carried over into this film." - Allen Poole, AV Club
