An upcoming film has received a title change. The latest film from director Scott Cooper and writer John Malone,
Texas Rangers, will no longer be going by that title. The studio has reportedly requested the change so that audiences don't think the film is a remake of the disastrous 2001 film
Texas Rangers. Malone's script covers the same events and features many of the same historical figures as characters, but the writer is adamant that the film is not an adaptation of that previous film. Currently Last Resort Films president Phil Dolan and writer John Malone are brainstorming possible new titles to differentiate it.
