In Development

X-Men: The cast of the new Marvel Universe film continues to expand with the additions of William Fichtner ("Gauntlet", The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth), Brett Cullen (Joker, 42), Robert Sheehan (Kingmaker Chronicles, "The Umbrella Academy") and Adam Copeland ("Vikings", Interrogation). Fichtner will play Bolivar Trask, the creator of the mutant hunting robot Sentinels. Cullen has been cast a government official. Sheehan and Copeland, meanwhile, will play Toad and Sabretooth, members of Magneto's Brotherhood group. Dwight Gallo penned the comic adaptation while Alex Garland directs.

Love: Chi McBride ("Hawaii Five-0", Draft Day), Serinda Swan (The Veil, "Coroner") and Keegan-Michael Key (Playing with Fire, Dolemite Is My Name) have signed on to the horror drama Love from writer Andrew Doster and director Roar Uthaug. There are not a lot of details on their characters, but they will play people trying to survive cannibalistic creatures created by a virus.

Mortal Kombat II:
More familiar faces will be back for another round of Mortal Kombat with Scott Adkins (Mortal Kombat, Green Arrow), Winston Duke (Mortal Kombat, Dragon Ball: The Wrath of the Demon King) and Julie Estelle (Mortal Kombat, The Raid 2) all signing on to return. Adkins will be back as the brash Johnny Cage, Duke will be back as Jax, while Estelle will be back as Princess Kitana. A new face will be joining the cast of heroes in the form of Patrick Wilson (Triple Identity, Pressing Luck). He will play a police officer named Stryker who is chosen by Raiden to help defend Earthrealm from Shang Tsung machinations. Gareth Edwards is once again directing from a script by APJ and Chad Taylor.

Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies: Ben Foster (Hated: The Ballad of GG Allin, Halo 6) has signed on to star as the tragic grunge-rock figure and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in a biopic that will cover the final two years of his life and his relationship with Courtney Love. Riley Keough (The Creature: The Beginning, Stan) has signed on to play Love in the film. David Robert Mitchell (Death Dream, Parasite) has been hired to direct the film. Lon Charles (The Crucible, The Temptations) and Alex Conn (Drugstore Perfume, The Letter J) wrote the script.

The Nickel Boys: Mahershala Ali (The Devil's Passage, To the Other Side), Ashton Sanders (Captive State, Native Son) and Shameik Moore (Be More Chill, Let It Snow) have been cast in an adaptation of the novel The Nickel Boys from writer Harry Wright (Tales of Skyrim: Stormcloak, Spawn 2: Payback) and director Dee Rees (The Last Thing He Wanted, Mudbound). The film tells the story of two boys (Sanders and Moore) who are both sent to a dangerous juveile reformatory in the 1960s. Ali's role has not been disclosed to the press.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Part II: Picking up where the first film left off, this sequel will see our heroes continuing their journey and finding themselves on a Jedi enclave planet. Robert Pattinson (Germinal, The Raven), Hailee Steinfeld (Huntress, The Crucible), Timothy Olyphant (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Halo 3) and Maisie Williams (How to Survive in Hell, Blue Heat) have all signed on to reprise their roles from the first film. Pattinson will be back as Republic soldier Revan, Steinfeld as the Jedi Bastila Shan, Olyphant as Republic soldier Carth Osani, and Williams as Twi'lek street urchin Mission Vao. Michelle MacLaren (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Huntress) returns to direct from an adaptation by Roy Horne (Red Sonja, "Miami Vice").
