Release: Drugstore Perfume

Drugstore Perfume
Genre: Drama/Romance
Director: Alex Conn
Writer: Alex Conn
Cast: Alex Wolff, Aubrey Plaza, RJ Cyler, Jason Ritter, Abigail Breslin

Budget: $15,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $17,075,888
Foreign Box Office: $5,474,090
Total Profit: -$12,049,998

Reaction: With the low budget, we were hoping that this film would at least break even like Conn's directorial debut, Oh Johnny Boy, but the poor box office gross overseas really killed any chance this film had at making a profit. It didn't lose as much money as The Virgin Suicides, but that is mostly due to the lower budget.

"Despite strong performances from talented lead actors Aubrey Plaza and Alex Wolff, the writing and direction from Alex Conn does them no favors with the characterizations they (and the other actors) are given to work with." - Michael Wilmington, Rolling Stone

"Drugstore Perfume is a film that feels pretty sloppy with inattention to details and character motivations. On a positive note, the actors suit their roles and there is some decent chemistry between Wolff and Plaza." - Tim Durand, San Francisco Chronicle

"The film works because Aubrey Plaza and Alex Wolff are so good in their roles. If those lead duo didn't work, the movie would have likely been a disaster as a whole." - Jeremy Raren, RottenTomatoes.com

Rated R for sexual content and language
