Plot: Amber (Rebecca Ferguson), wearing a nightgown is running scared in the dark forest, the light of the moon provides the only illumination. She keeps running but trips on branches, she avoids the pain from the cuts and anxiously gets to her feet, she looks around in worry. She reaches a clearing but a man is standing their waiting. His features hidden by the darkness. He asks if she thinks she could get away. He says she belongs to him. He warns her that she is bleeding. She looks down and her nightgown is covered in blood, and a pool of blood begins to form.
Amber wakes up terrified in her bed. Harry (Aidan Turner) wakes up in a fright and puts his arms around her. She pushes him off and says she needs to breath. Harry looks around uncertain of what he should say or do. He says he will make breakfast but she wants him there. Amber leans in and they kiss.
Wolf (Hugh Jackman) walks through the bushes of a park and takes a seat on an empty bench. He waits a minute and checks his watch as joggers run past. A man takes a seat next to him with a sandwich and newspaper. Wolf quickly looks around, grabs out a silenced pistol leans in close and shoots the man 4 times. He keeps the body from falling forward, puts the gun away and picks up the newspaper. Blood starts spreading on the man’s shirt but Wolf opens the newspaper and starts reading. He remarks about the comic strips. More joggers run past but are oblivious to the murder. Wolf places the newspaper on the front of the man, gets up, looks at the body and sighs in boredom. He slowly walks away eating the dead man’s sandwich.
Wolf walks towards the door of his apartment. An attractive woman, Talia (Tatiana Maslany), stands on the wall next to the door holding a package. Wolf stops and looks at her asking what she wants. With no words she hands Wolf the package and walks away. The package is wrapped in brown paper and the letter B is engraved in calligraphy.
Amber is fixing herself up putting makeup on in the bathroom mirror. Harry appears at the door, holding two glasses of wine. He asks if she wants one for the road. She says no. Harry says that they never spend the day together anymore. Amber looks and remarks that she thinks nights are better anyway. Harry asks where it is she is going now. She jokes that she has other lovers to get to. Harry laughs but Amber says she is serious. Harry’s face goes red as she gives him a soft kiss.
Amber exits the house but turns to a running Harry as a last ditch effort to get her to stay. From across the street Wolf photographs them. Wolf is hidden in an alleyway. Harry gets a big kiss from Amber, which is again photographed. Harry goes back inside and Amber walks away. She lights a cigarette oblivious to Wolf following her and taking pictures of her.
Bluebeard (Justin Theroux), (he gets his name from dressing in blue and having a beard), sits in his living room opposite Wolf, not a single word is being said and Wolf is becoming agitated. Talia appears in the room carrying two glasses of whiskey. Wolf looks at her and says hello again. Talia stays guiet and Wolf asks her name, to no reply. She closes the door behind her. Bluebeard stares at Wolf and seems agitated at Wolf’s antics. Wolf asks if she is seeing anyone. Bluebeard doesn’t care and makes sure Wolf knows his job, Wolf nods.
They continue the conversation. Bluebeard says that Wolf is considered one of the best in the business, he asks a simple request that he make her bleed, suffer and cry and wish that she were dead. Wolf says he doesn’t do messy. Bluebeard says he has done his research and knows that he can do messy. He doesn’t care about the price. Wolf says it will cost a lot more for messy. Wolf smiles.
Wolf in a dark room is developing the photos from earlier. It’s Amber walking away from Harry’s place. Wolf keeps looking as her face becomes more apparent. A voiceover from Bluebeard reveals she is his wife, he says she has certain charms and that he can torture her all he wants, just don’t fornicate with her. That is the line he does not want Wolf to cross.
Back to the living room. Wolf says he is a professional and he would never let anything like that happen. They pick up their glasses and toast.
Amber walks to a grocery store and shuffles around the food. The grocer comes toward her and they begin to laugh. She tries to pay but the grocer denies payment and watches her walk away.
She walks out of a shower with a towel wrapped around her in a hotel, she puts the radio on and starts to dance.
Wolf is standing out the front of her room, he is in deep thought, opening and closing his fists. A roll of sweat rolls down his face and he turns and leaves. He continues walking until he reaches a bar with two thugs standing nearby he walks up to them and makes a remark about their mothers. They come charging in and try to attack him. They begin whaling into him but Wolf stares at them every time they hit him. He snaps and knees one man in the mid-section, he drops. He then goes to the other and begins repeatedly punching him backwards until he hits a wall, the thug drops and Wolf jumps on top of him continuing to assault him until his fists are bloody and lets out a long angry cry. He walks past the other thug and kicks him twice. He walks away with a satisfied look on his face.
Amber is running frantically in the forest. She comes to the clearing and the man is digging a hole. She slowly approaches him and looks in the whole. She is horrified as she sees herself. She is thrown in the hole and the man puts dirt on top of her as she screams and coughs. Amber wakes up drenched in sweat and turns on the light. In a panic she runs to the bathroom and splashes water on her face.
Bluebeard’s in his office looking over paperwork. Talia opens the door and brings in food and puts it on the table. She begins to leave but stops. Bluebeard senses this. She asks why he didn’t just kill her. They continue talking and Bluebeard doesn’t like her tone. He stands and slowly walks towards Talia, he walks behind her, he puts his hand on the back of her neck. He says he could snap it without even batting an eyelid. He kisses the back of her neck and shoulders. He pulls her in close and asks what she needs. She says his punishment. Bluebeard unzips her dress, he unbuckles his belt and whips her with it. She smiles and likes the punishment.
Amber and Harry hold each other on the lounge watching a romantic film. He asks if she would rather have a little fun. She says yes and he struggles to carry her to the bed. They both laugh.
Wolf is seen working out. He grabs his gun and heads out.
Harry is sitting on his lounge eating breakfast, he hears a knock at the door. He opens it and a gun is in his face the trigger is pulled and the bullet enters his temple. Wolf stands over his body with a small smile.
Wolf follows Amber into a diner, she sits at a booth. Wolf walks over with a coffee in hand, he asks if he can sit with her. She is a bit wary as she doesn’t know him. He says that he knows her and her name is Amber. She is intrigued and points to the seat. He tells her everything that he is a killer and was hired to kill her but he doesn’t want to. He says that he wants to get out of the hitman game, he is tired of it. He says she will need her wedding ring and a bit of hair to get the money off her husband to get away. He says she can hide out at his place. She says ok.
Bluebeard is talking to one of his mercenaries, Connor (Joe Mangianello), he wants Connor to keep an eye on Wolf and report to Talia if anything is suspicious.
Wolf walks Amber in the apartment and offers her his bed to sleep in. He says that he will sleep on the floor in the living room, she says that the bed is big enough to share, he says if she says so and hops in the bed. She takes her shirt and shorts off and gets in bed. Wolf stutters his words and Amber says she always sleeps in her bra and panties. She closes her eyes to go to sleep.
They wake and Amber eats some fruit as Wolf looks on. He asks why she wan from Bluebeard in the first place. She says that he beat her. She learnt that he killed all of his wives in the past and covered it up every single time. Wolf is a bit taken back and vows that he won’t let that happen this time.
Amber dials a number on her phone but it rings out. She wants to know where Harry is.
She looks in the cupboards for some dinner but she can’t find anything. Wolf says he will order some. She walks toward Wolf and gets close she looks in his eyes and goes to kiss him, he stops her and instead throws her on the bed. Cut to moaning and clothes scattered on the ground.
He re-enters the bedroom with a towel around his waist with pizza in hand. She says that they should get away together, escape. Wolf likes the idea and says he will think about it, he grabs her and they start kissing again.
Amber has the same nightmare as before and wakes drenched in sweat, she washes her face with water and goes to the living room and begins stretching for a workout.
Wolf grabs his guns from the drawer and gives Amber a kiss. She grabs one of the guns from the holster, pulls the chamber back and takes the clip out. Wolf is amazed and she says Bluebeard used to take her to the range.
Wolf exits the apartment and is followed in his car by Connor. Wolf arrives at his destination and starts walking down dusty old stairs. He walks into an old antique shop and out the back to see an old friend Frederick (Ron Cephas Jones). He leaves the USB with photos on it there and reluctantly says that he has to run. He runs up the stairs and exits. Frederick looks at the photos in front of a monitor. The doorbell rings again. Frederick walks in the main area and sees Connor standing there.
Connor is standing in the basement and looks at the photo of Amber. He smiles and walks off, passing Frederick who is lying motionless in a pool of blood.
Amber is listening to loud music and is sweaty from a long workout. Connor is out the front of the door. He picks the lock and enters then slowly closes the door behind him. He sneaks to where the music is playing. He stands at the entryway and Amber feels the presence of somebody, she pauses the music and turns, she gulps as she sees Connor standing. Connor sits on the bed and tells her he is to do what Wolf couldn’t. She runs for the door but is stopped by Connor. He hits her repeatedly as she screams. She punches him but it does nothing. He grabs her finger and breaks it. She fakes being unconscious and slips away from him. She gets on her knees and with all her power hits him in the groin, she manages to run to the door and undo the lock but she is grabbed by Connor who says the next step is to break her neck. He holds her high. A voice is heard “Take your hands off her.” It’s Wolf, they spring toward each other, Connor begins to beat Wolf down but, Wolf fights back. Connor grabs a hatchet from his jacket and swings at Wolf. Wolf manages to disarm him and the axe falls to the ground. Connor begins to overpower Wolf and choke him out on the ground. Amber crawls to the hatchet and slides it toward Wolf. Almost unconscious he grabs the hatchet and swings it at Connor’s head, killing him instantly.
Pissed, Wolf decides he is going straight to Bluebeard to get his money and kill him. Amber says she is coming. She demands a gun. He gives her the gun and they head off, driving to his office.
Bluebeard and Talia are having sex when an alert goes off. They stop and Bluebeard looks at a screen. “They’re here.” He pulls up his pants and grabs his gun. He tells Talia that she can now kill Amber. She smiles.
Wolf walks in with two guns and shoots all of Bluebeard’s thugs. He reaches the door of his office and demands his money. Bluebeard yells out and says here is your money, before spraying bullets all over the place. Wolf finds cover and hides.
Amber and Talia are fighting and Talia is getting the best of Amber pinning her down. Talia asks her why she gave up such a great man. Amber scoffs and says she has had enough fun. She grabs her gun from her pocket and says “see ya bitch”, and pulls the trigger Talia lays lifeless in blood.
Wolf and Bluebeard are in a gun fight, both of them yell insults at one another. Amber runs over and Bluebeard sees her. He looks defeated and yells out to Talia but there is no answer. He screams at Amber and stands to shoot her. Wolf gets his shot off just in time and kills Bluebeard on the spot. He runs to grab the bag of money, and kisses Amber they run to the car and he pops the trunk to put the cash inside.
Amber stands behind Wolf and tells him to stop. "You Bitch" he cries. He asks if it was just about the money. She shrugs her shoulders. She whispers in his ear that she knows he killed Harry. Wolf says that he will kill her for this. She says she doubts this and shoots him in the head. She closes the trunk, gets in the car and drives into the distance smiling.
