Reaction: Pretty strong numbers for an R-Rated music biopic. While it didn't gross as much as the last entry in that category (The Temptations), we're still happy with the results at the box office.

"Some may say that Ben Foster (at age 39) is too old to play Kurt Cobain in a film. I absolutely 100% disagree. Foster is a chameleon like few others, and absolutely disappears into the role of the tragic rocker. He is ably joined on-screen by Riley Keough, and they do wonders with their characters' co-dependent relationship." - Charles Triano, Los Angeles

"This film is one that is all about the performances. The supporting players don't get a ton to do, although they are all very well cast in their roles. The stars in this one, Foster and Keough, each give arguably career best performances, playing their parts with reckless abandon." - Charles Yost, Oregonian

"The best compliment I can give to Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies is that I appreciate that it doesn't take the rise and fall approach. Cobain is already on top of the world when our story really begins, and we then watch him spiral ever deeper into his depression and addiction. While I give the film kudos for tweaking the standard formula enough to feel a little different, I'd still they rather done something wholly unique (something more like Bill Pohlad's Love & Mercy)" - Michael Wilmington, Rolling Stone

Rated R for language, sexuality/nudity and drug content throughout
