Plot: Sith Lord Darth Malak (Dominic Cooper) and another masked Sith have a lightsaber duel aboard a destroyed flagship. Malak tells the other Sith that he has grown soft, far too soft to lead the Sith going forward. The masked Sith slashes Malak across the face with his lightsaber, scarring his jawline. Malak then charges the masked Sith and begins beating him. He knocked the Sith's mask off, revealing Revan (Robert Pattinson). Revan then kicks Malak away from him and stands over Malak.
Revan then suddenly wakes up from a nightmare, sweating in his bed on the planet Dantooine, in a Jedi Enclave. Bastila Shan (Hailee Steinfeld) enters the hut and tells Revan that they have been requested before Zhar Lestin. While he is getting ready, Revan tells Bastila that he is having more visions. In this latest one he appeared to be a Sith Lord. Bastila assures him that Zhar will be more hopeful in interpreting these visions than herself. Revan and Bastila come before Zhar Lestin (F. Murray Abraham). Zhar says that the visions are certainly intriguing, but it is unclear as to their real meaning. Frustrated, Revan leaves the room. Zhar confides in Bastila that the visions are more important than he wants Revan to know. Zhar tells Bastila that Revan has a strong connection to the legendary and mysterious Star Forge, and that he would like her to take Revan there.
Bounty hunter Calo Nord (Sung Kang) is brought before Malak by Admiral Karath (Jeff Daniels). Karath tells Malak that he has some bad news: the map to the Star Forge is missing, and he suspects that Bastila Shan may have it. Malak hires Nord to hunt down Revan's party and bring Bastila Shan to him alive. Nord nods his head and leaves the room.
Bastila Shan returns to the Ebon Hawk where Revan, Carth Osani (Timothy Olyphant), Mission Vao (Maisie Williams) and Canderous (Vincent Cassel) are fueling up the ship. She asks why they're fueling up the ship, and Revan tells her that they don't feel at home in a Jedi culture and are leaving to go seek adventure elsewhere. Bastila tells them that there is a mission for them all to go on, if they're up for it. Revan asks for more information, and Bastila tells him that a Star Map was located, but nobody knows what it leads to. Her masters would like them to follow the map and scout out the location to determine its importance. Canderous and Mission are excited about the prospect of adventure, while Carth isn't particularly interested but does enjoy flying the ship so he agrees to tag along.
As the Ebon Hawk takes off away from Dantooine, Bastila tells everyone that they have to make a quick detour to the nearby planet of Tatooine as part of the Star Map is incomplete. When they land down on Tatooine they are bombarded by a sandstorm. Revan, Bastila and Carth put on head coverings and start marching toward a series of caves in the desert landscape. Mission and Canderous stay back at the ship and play Sabacc.
When the trio make their way into the correct cave they find a large door controlled by an ancient artificial intelligence. The AI poses a riddle to the three. After each answers, the AI says that one answered as a Jedi would, one answered as a soldier would, but the third, Revan, answered how a Sith would. This triggers the AI's defenses, and a several droids come out of the floor. Revan and Bastila use lightsabers to fend off the droids while Carth uses his blaster. Once all he droids are destroyed the door opens up. Inside is a small room with just a small device on a table. Bastila plugs the device into the Star Map, which reveals the final coordinates of the Star Forge. When Revan, Carth and Bastila get back to the ship they find Canderous being held captive by Calo Nord. Suddenly, Mission jumps down from a hatch and lands on Nord, disarming him. Revan then kills Nord with his lightsaber, leaving his body behind in Tatooine.
Admiral Saul Karath reports back to Malak that Calo Nord failed his mission and has died. Malak reminds Karath that the penalty for failure is death, but that the failure was Calo Nord's not Karath's. Malak then calls upon his Shadow Hand, Darth Bandon (Ed Skrein). Malak tells Bandon that his job is to kill Revan and capture Bastila Shan. Bandon calmly nods his head with a smile. Karath looks at the radar screen on the ship, the Leviathan, and says that may be easier than one would think. He then points out a blip on the radar, saying that it is the Ebon Hawk.
The party on the Ebon Hawk suddenly feel a strong shaking feeling. Carth says that they have been caught in the tractor beam of the Leviathan, the flagship of Admiral Karath, who Carth reveals is his former mentor. While they are being pulled in, Bastila tells Canderous and Mission to hide since the Republic would not know about their presence. Darth Bandon boards the Ebon Hawk and attacks Revan. Bastila and Revan team up on Bandon and eventually overpower and kill him. After killing Bandon, the ship is boarded by dozens of Republic soldiers as well as Admiral Karath, who has Revan, Bastila and Carth all placed in force cages. Karath has them brought aboard the Leviathan. He expresses his suprise that a soldier like Carth would be hanging around a bunch of low-life outlaws. Carth spits at Karath, calling him a thug. Karath asks Bastila if she knows about Dantooine yet. She doesn't, and he tells her that before they picked up the Ebon Hawk, the Leviathan was busy destroying the entire planet of Dantooine. Karath then leaves the room. Bastila expresses worry that the dark side is growing stronger because she did not sense a disturbance in the force upon the planet's destruction. Canderous and Mission come out of hiding and decide to get the Ebon Hawk equipped to take off from the Leviathan.
Carth manages to break free from his cage and lets Revan and Bastila out of theirs as well. Bastila tells them that she senses that Darth Malak is near. As they try to sneak away, they are once again confronted by Karath, who opens fire at the group, but he is hit by Carth's blaster.
When Revan, Bastila and Carth get back to the hangar where the Ebon Hawk is being held, they are confronted by Darth Malak. He pulls away Carth's blaster using the force, and then sends Carth flying into a wall. Malak tells Revan that he's surprised to see him again, confusing Revan. Malak tells Revan his true identity: the former Dark Lord of the Sith, Dark Revan. Malak tells Revan that he was personally trained by Revan, but now he plans on killing his former master. Malak created a Force Stasis Field, isolating himself and Revan from Bastila and Carth. Revan and Malak duel evenly. Bastila manages to break through the stasis field and charges in to combat Malak. She tells Revan and Carth to find the Star Forge. She then takes her battle with Malak into another room, closing the door to the hangar behind her. Mission and Canderous pop their heads out of the open Ebon Hawk doors and tell Revan and Carth to get in so they can do what Bastila says to do.
The Ebon Hawk races in lightspeed toward the location of the Star Forge according to the Star Map. When they reach the planet containing the forge, the ship crash lands due to the uneasy magnetic fields around the forge. When Revan, Carth, Mission and Canderous exit the Ebon Hawk, they notice an entire fleet of Sith vessels converging on the Forge. Carth signals a Republic Navy admiral he trusts, Forn Dodonna (Jennifer Ehle).
At the crash site, Mission volunteers to stay at the damaged Ebon Hawk and use its weapons against incoming Sith ships. Revan, Carth and Canderous make their way onto the Star Forge. They see Forn Dodonna's fleet converge between them and the Sith fleet. Carth celebrates that help has arrived. When they get to the top of the Forge, a small ship lands in front of them, and Bastila gets out. She asks Revan to reconsider and go back to the Dark Side. Revan senses that Bastila is being controlled and uses the Force to break Malak's hold over her.
Inside the Forge, Revan is surprised that Malak is already inside. Malak laughs at Revan's slack-jawed expression of surprise. Malak then shows Revan what the Star Forge does. He connects to the Forge through the Force and droids begin emerging from the Forge to attack Revan. Bastila, Canderous and Carth tell Revan that they will fend off the droids while he takes care of Malak. Bastila warns Revan that now that Malak has connected himself with the Forge, more and more dangerous droids will emerge from the Forge until he is defeated.
Mission takes out several Sith ships using the weapons on the Ebon Hawk. Meanwhile, Forn Dodonna leads her fleet in a full assault against the Sith ships, telling her underlings that Carth better be right about all of this otherwise the entire Galaxy could very well be screwed.
Malak and Revan continue their lightsaber duel around the Forge. After a prolonged fight, Malak knocks Revan off of a ledge. Bastila is in shock as it looks as though he has fallen into the Forge. Suddenly, an arm reaches out and grabs Malak's leg, pulling him over the ledge and leading him to fall down into the Forge. The droids shut down. Bastila and Carth help Revan up back onto the platform. Canderous and Carth set up a bunch of explosive charges on the Forge to detroy it. They collect Mission from the Ebon Hawk and escape the planet on the Sith vessel Bastila arrived on. They make their way toward Dodonna's fleet. They open fire at the heroes, but Carth gets on the radio and manages to call Dodonna, telling her that it's them and to cease fire. The group lands in the hangar of Dodonna's ship, finally able to rest. Carth thanks Dodonna for her help. Bastila quietly mourns the destruction of Dantooine. Revan ponders what is next for him. Bastila suggests that he continue his Jedi training with her at another Jedi Enclave. Revan says he will consider it.
