Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies: Bruce Dern (Theater Kids, Beartown), Stanley Tucci (Mass Effect: First Contact, Spawn 2: Payback) and Lukas Haas (Blind Faith, Widows) have signed on to round out the cast of the upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic. Dern will play famed writer William S. Burroughs, Tucci will play a private investigtor, and Haas will play a record producer. David Robert Mitchell is directing the film based on a script by Lon Charles and Alex Conn.
The Nickel Boys: The upcoming drama from director Dee Rees and writer Harry Wright has added Zachary Gordon (Violet, "Good Trouble"), Bill Camp (Cascade, The Stranger), Ray Abruzzo (The Tournament, Elsewhere) and Kevin Carroll ("The Leftovers", "Lucifer") to its cast. The film is about the poor conditions at a juvenile detention center in the early 1960s.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The press was not given a casting breakdown for any of the new characters set to appear in this sequel, but F. Murray Abraham (Amelie, "She-Hulk"), Delroy Lindo ("The Good Fight", Battlecreek) and Ed Skrein ("Hitman", Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) have all officially joined the project. Abraham and Lindo's characters are not known, but Skrein will be reprising his role as Darth Bandon in the blockbuster. Michelle MacLaren is directing the film which is once again penned by Roy Horne.
Misfit: The Hollywood biopic has added John Slattery (Don't Hang Up, Letter to Myself), Peter Sarsgaard (Human Capital, The Sound of Silence), Lily Collins (Steins Gate, An Ember in the Ashes) and Blake Jenner (The Informers, Time Passages) to its cast. Slattery will play director of the film The Misfits, Sarsgaard will play Marilyn Monroe's husband Arthur Miller, Collins will play actress Elizabeth Taylor, while Jenner will play a horse trainer on the film. Gus Van Sant directs the star-studded film, which was written by Chad Taylor.
Lady Red: Aidan Turner ("Poldark", Superman: The Man of Tomorrow) has signed on to a supporting role in Lady Red as his first post-Superman role for LRF. He will joined by Joe Manganiello ("Showtime", Rampage), Ron Cephas Jones ("This Is Us", Dolemite Is My Name) and Tatiana Maslany (God of War: Kratos, Batman: Arkham), all of whom have also joined the ensemble cast of the film. John Hillcoat is directing, while Jimmy Ellis penned the original screenplay.
Constantine: The Hellblazer: After first appearing in a cameo appearance at the end of Swamp Thing, Colin Farrell (The Stranger, The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth) has now officially signed on to play the role of John Constantine in a solo film, Constantine: The Hellblazer. He will play a master of the occult who finds himself facing off against a demon with a personal vendetta against him. Tarsem Singh (Paradise Lost, Wishmaster) has signed on to direct from a script by D.R. Cobb ("Rolling Stone", Harrelson).
