Plot: A girl, Shoshanna (Indya Moore), wanders around a room that never seems to end with a limp walk. The silence is broken by the noise caused by the girl's boots. Her green dress is torn and dirty and she has dried blood on her hands and cheek. Eventually the girl comes to a door. Shoshanna looks around and turns the handle. The girl finds herself in another room with two chairs in the center. A moment later the camera shows her terrified face when her eyes catch sight of something in the corner of the room.

It's evening and it's raining, Kristy Henderson (Jodie Comer) is in her apartment arguing over the phone with her mother Sandra (Joely Richardson) unleashed by the girl's lack of commitment to find a job. In her house there is also her roommate Jennifer Healy (Kathryn Newton) who is lying on the sofa and is watching a horror movie while she giggles because of the fight. At one point Kristy hangs up the call in the middle of the fight. A moment later, Kristy suddenly receives a Skype call. The girl responds and recognizes her ex-boyfriend Peter Terry (Joe Keery) with a strange face that is almost anxious or scared. Their relationship had ended due to his constant drug addiction problems, but they were still on good terms and heard from each other quite often even though he hadn't been in touch for the past four weeks. The boy started talking about a place called "House Withouth End" which was called that because no one had ever made it to the final exit. He says the rules were simple, the goal was to get through nine rooms and reach the last room on the top floor of the building to win $ 5,000. He claims the house was out of town, about half an hour from the girls' apartment. Peter claims he tried and failed. Meanwhile, Jennifer had also approached to overhear the strange conversation. Peter says the house was scary and that there was something supernatural inside. At that point Jennifer makes ironic jokes about what the boy is saying. Shortly after the PC screen starts to have problems and the phone call ends abruptly. The two girls start laughing and joke that the boy went into the house after taking some hard drugs and scared of some puppet or idiot joke. Anyway Jennifer convinces Kristy to go the next night to browse that house because $ 5,000 can be useful if it's real.

The next evening Kristy is in her car and stops in front of the clothing store where Jennifer works. Jennifer joins Kristy along with a third girlfriend, Ashley (Brittany O'Grady), a co-worker of Jennifer. The three girls set off and reach the house when it is now dark after having traveled through some narrow and unpaved streets. Once down, Kristy has a bad feeling running down her back but she walks over to the door and opens the door with her two friends. The three enter, the room looked like the lobby of a rather elegant hotel. On a wall was written: "Room 1 on this side, still missing 8. Reach the end and you will win!". Jennifer giggles and headed for the first door followed by the other two girls and they enter. The three of them look around realizing that this room was almost ridiculous. The décor was reminiscent of the hallways of a Halloween decorated K-Mart, complete with ghosts made of sheets and zombie robots moving as they passed. Jennifer grabs a werewolf mask and suddenly leaps out to scare Ashley into a general laugh. After briefly poking her around, they walk towards the exit which was at the back of the room. That was the only door other than the one they had come from. After going through several fake cobwebs placed near the door, they open the handle and enter the second room.

The door is opened and the three girls are immediately enveloped in an artificial fog. The room was undoubtedly decorated with a technology superior to the previous one because in addition to the machine to create the machine there was also a bat hanging from the ceiling that flew in circles making rather disturbing sounds making Ashley shiver. In the background there was a Halloween soundtrack that can be found in any shop for little money being played in a loop from some stereo hidden in the room. As the girls start walking, toy mice start moving towards the girls. The three pass them and approach the door. Kristy is ready to turn the handle but the bad feeling she had felt before had stopped her so much that Ashley asks her if she was okay. Jennifer is quite excited by the situation and opens the door intrigued by what was in room number 3.

In room 3, things begin to change. The three girls scan the room. There is a chair in the middle of the room and the floor is made of wood. A corner lamp dimly lit the surrounding area and cast shadows into the walls of the room as if the room were filled with objects. Ashley points out that it was a very strange house but Jennifer cheers her up by saying that there will be a particular piece of equipment that creates them and enters the room taking Ashley by the hand. At that moment Kristy has the urge to turn around and leave but the door suddenly closes without the possibility of being reopened despite the girls' punches and kicks. Jennifer states that it was closed from the outside or through some automatic device. When they turn around they realize that the shadows on the walls had disappeared, there was only the shadow of the chair. Kristy realizes that the three girls' shadows were gone too. As Kristy and Jennifer discuss what to do, Ashley's scream makes them jump. Ashley looks shocked and points to the wall and runs forward into the fourth room without waiting for Jennifer and Kristy. Kristy and Jennifer look around, the walls were covered with images of murdered people and among those images they notice that some portray Ashley, Jennifer and Kristy. Kristy notices that one of them even portrays Peter. Jennifer tells her friend to go ahead and find Ashley and they approach the door taking one last look at those bad images.

When the two girls arrived in room 4 they were shrouded in darkness, there was no light and the silence was frightening. The room is even colder than. Jennifer calls Ashley out loud but she gets no response. At that point Kristy takes out her cell phone to shed some light, but something has prevented the phone screen from staying on for more than a couple of seconds. Jennifer and Kristy take each other by the hand and begin to advance in the dark promising to stay close all the time. After a few steps Jennifer suddenly stumbles on something and falls to the ground. The girl realizes she has tripped over a corpse. Jennifer starts touching it lightly for a few moments to figure out if it was Ashley's but she can't figure it out as Kristy tries to pick her up. At that point the silence was broken by a low hum. The two girls begin to feel something behind them. They instinctively turn around but for obvious reasons they see nothing even though they were sure they are followed by something. The buzz gets louder and closer. They believe they are surrounded and the mysterious cause of that sound seems to get closer and closer. Suddenly, for a few moments, the lights turn on and flash before the two girls return to darkness again. The two girls move forward as the buzz turns more and more into a kind of terrible shrill wild cry. The two friends plug their ears as much as possible and continue walking arm in arm. The two girls bump into the wall of the room breathing a sigh of relief knowing that that room has an end. The girls start touching the wall until Kristy feels something on the floor and realizes it is a doorknob. At that moment the now unbearable noise disappears. The two friends squat down and pull the handle after a moment's hesitation. The door opens and they fall into the void.

Kristy slowly opens her eyes. A few meters further Jennifer is also regaining consciousness. Kristy approaches her and helps her to get up despite a pain in her back from her ruinous fall. Jennifer looks at her bloodstained hands assuming it was from the corpse she had touched in the previous room and she very much hopes it wasn't Ashley. The two girls begin to look around. This room, number 5 seems to have the highest ceiling of the other rooms and many plants and trees of various types had grown inside it. The room is also larger than the other four and the trees prevented a possible exit door from being seen. The two girls were silent for a moment. Kristy sees a praying mantis on a leaf and hints at a half smile. Suddenly they start to hear birds chirping even though the girls don't even see one. Kristy sits by a tree and has a moment of despair but is convinced by Jennifer to go on and fight to get out of there alive. The two girls hypothesize that the difficulty of the rooms increased as we proceeded despite the fact that this seemed like a paradise compared to the previous one. The girls begin to walk through the trees for an indefinite time without seeing the exit door. Suddenly a mosquito rests on Jennifer's arm, she tries to shake it off and then kills her after she's been bitten. At that point a swarm of mosquitoes pounce on the poor girl and start biting her everywhere. Jennifer tries desperately to ask Kristy for help and she begins to move and roll on the ground in vain to get rid of the insects in fact the insects were still on her skin. Kristy was next to her watching the terrified scene in fact she couldn't see what she was stinging and didn't know what to do. Suddenly there was a hum similar to that of the previous room and Jennifer began to calm down. Kristy approaches Jennifer who is on the floor that she is breathing hard. The girl realizes that the mosquito bite has triggered an allergic reaction in her friend's arm and that her insect's venom has probably caused her visions. What is certain is that Jennifer is not in good shape even though she is still conscious. Kristy took her friend under her arm and they kept looking for her exit. Her friend's condition was getting worse, Jennifer is getting weaker and she also starts to have a nosebleed for a brief moment. In addition, the strong buzzing that created even more anxiety and fear is always present. After an unspecified time they manage to find the exit door. While they are a few meters from the door Jennifer is so weak that she falls to the floor and starts coughing so much that she starts spitting blood too. Jennifer begs Kristy to leave her because her fate is now sealed. Kristy flatly refuses saying that they would continue together at all costs and she helps her friend settle down near the door. Kristy pulls the handle hard but the door seems to be blocked until at a certain point it opens almost by itself making the girl almost lose her balance forward who finds herself in room number 6. As soon as she turns to help her friend the door goes closes leaving Jennifer alone on the other side.

As soon as Kristy realizes it she turns around but is shocked to see that the door was gone. Kristy starts banging her hands on her wall calling the name Jennifer until she falls to her knees with her hands in front of her face sobbing. The room was identical to number 3, same chair and same oil lamp, but this time with just the right amount of shadows even though Kristy hadn't realized it yet. Suddenly a voice from her she hears a childish voice that greets her and asks her if she is okay. Kristy whirls around and is speechless. There is a girl (Alyvia Alyn Lind) wearing a long white dress. She has long blonde hair up to the middle of her back, white skin and blue eyes. At the same time, she also saw another being. The creature is naked from head to toe, her head was not human and her feet are hooves. The face of that terrifying creature resembles that of a goat, but her nose resembled that of a wolf. For a moment Kristy saw the girl and a moment later she saw the creature. The girl and the creature continued to exchange features. A mixture of childish voice and other inhuman words come together to create a frightening noise. Kristy tries to walk past that creature without looking at it. As soon as she passes her, Kristy feels the breath on her neck and walks over to the door. The creature was behind her, but for some reasons the creature couldn't touch Kristy. She reaches the door, there was number 7, it was wooden and had very deep scratches. The creature starts screaming in Kristy's ear telling her that she would never let her go and that they would live there together forever. Kristy opens her doorknob screaming at the top of her voice. When the door opens the creature was gone.

Kristy finds herself outside the house, runs in the car crying and runs quickly away from there, finding herself near her parents' house. When she is about to park she gets a call from Jennifer that she says she is with her Ashley and she claims she is fine and that it was a great adventure. Kristy gets out of the car and is greeted by her two parents Sandra and Rick (Steve Zahn) who are happy for her daughter's visit and hug her tightly apologizing for the fight the night before her on her phone . Kristy is quiet, still quite upset and goes to the bathroom to take a shower and then sits on the sofa for a few moments to watch a football game with dad before her mom calls them to dinner. Kristy realizes that despite the delicious appearance, the food was bland and she tasted nothing. After dinner she enters her old room where she finds Baskerville, the old family cat. When she tries to stroke him, he blows and scratches her hand and hides under her bed. The girl lies down trying to fall asleep but her thoughts about that absurd day were too heavy. Kristy snorts and goes into the kitchen to drink some water and sees her parents on the ground in a large pool of blood, with expressions that seemed almost smiling. Kristy is shocked and realizes that the situation is not real especially when the corpses open their mouths to speak and move her eyes following her with their eyes. Kristy is still in her house, which was still playing with her. The girl sees a door with the number 8 drawn in the blood of her parents. The girl advances through the two corpses as the usual hum begins to echo in the room. A sudden urge to take a piece of glass and commit suicide starts to reverberate in her mind but she can resist the temptation. With a last click, the girl opens the door and finds herself in the next room.

Kristy closes her eyes and screams in anger and despair before looking around the room. Kristy opens her eyes to hers and is perplexed because she is another copy of rooms 4 and 6. This time, however, a woman is sitting on her chair, identical to her. Her head was looking down and she was crying. She suddenly looks up and asks Kristy not to hurt her. The real Kristy doesn't know how to behave about her and she tries to tell her that she has no intention of hurting her but the other kept crying and repeating that phrase. Kristy decides to approach her doppelganger and asks for information. At that point the doppelganger replies "You want to hurt me, I know you want it, because you want to leave!". The lookalike wore the same clothes as the real Kristy, except for a small red spot on the shirt that indicated the number 9. "You'll hurt me, I know you'll hurt me, please don't!"
The real Kristy starts walking around the chair where she is twice her size and she notices that there is a knife under the chair. She picks it up and looks at it. Attached to it is a message that says: "For Kristy". As soon as she takes the knife from under the chair, the other Kristy stops crying and she changes expression. She suddenly gets up from her chair and the two Kristys find themselves facing each other. Kristy's impersonator said, "Now I want to hurt you, I want to hurt you and keep you here." The real Kristy didn't answer and they started fighting until the real Kristy was on top of her at her lookalike ready to kill him. She looked at her in terror, it was like seeing herself in a mirror. Then the buzz returned and with a sharp movement I hit him in the chest, killing him twice as much as she did. For a moment everything becomes dark except for a dim light, one of those stereotypes at the end of the tunnels that tell people who have had a coma experience. Kristy slowly approaches and finds herself where it all began: the entrance to the house without the end, was identical to how she and her friends had left it except for an envelope on the desk with the name of she. Kristy walks over and finds the $ 5,000 in the envelope. Kristy starts laughing, walking to the car and laughing the whole time as she walked home.

She parks in her driveway and opens the front door. The camera frames the number 10 carved in wood.
