The Culture: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (Hotel California, Wishmaster), Maude Apatow (Shouts from thw Well, Poison Ivy) and Meg Donnelly (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "American Housewife") have signed on to complete the cast of Jim Jarmusch's LRF debut, The Culture. The music industry comedy-drama was written by Jacob Jones.
Uncharted 4: Matt Bomer (The Case Against 8. A Life) has signed on to play the primary villain in the upcoming blockbuster Uncharted 4. Also joining the film will be Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Gargoyles, The Last of Us), David Zayas (Body Cam, Force of Nature) and Chi McBride (Love, "Hawaii Five-0"). Addai-Robinson will play a private military contractor who works with Bomer's character, Zayas will play a prison warden and McBride will play the owner of a ship salvage business. Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six: Sissy Spacek (Spider-Man. Halo 4), Kiefer Sutherland (The Crow: Wings of Isaiah, Spider-Man), Ron Perlman (Odysseus - Part One, Spider-Man) and Ana de Armas (Mexican Gothic, The Black Cat Strikes Again!) are all set to reprise their previous Spider-Man and Marvel Universe roles as Aunt May Parker, NYPD Captain George Stacy, J Jonah Jameson and Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat, respectively. One new addition to the film will be Zoey Deutch (The Water Cure, Oklahoma!) who was announced to be playing the role of Mary Jane Watson at this season's LRF Comic-Con. The film is being directed by Damien Chazelle and written by D.R. Cobb and Chad Taylor.
So This Is What It Feels Like: Indie darling Cooper Raiff (Cha Cha Real Smooth, Shithouse) is set to star in and direct his first project for Last Resort Films. The film is also penned by a first-time LRFer, writer Sammy-Jo Ellis, sister of Jimmy Ellis. The film will tell the story of a low-level Hollywood studio employee played by Raiff Awkwafina (Cecil, The Kiss Quotient) and Henry Golding (What We Were Promised, Kyle Dates New York City) have also signed on to the project. Awkwafina will play Raiff's love interest while Golding will play a handsome executive.
The Nest: Vera Farmiga (Prey, Scion 3), Mackenzie Foy (Arizona, Y: The Last Man - Part 2), Levi Miller (Streamline, American Exit) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Attraction/Deception, Splinter Cell: Blacklist) have signed on to star in The Nest, a horror mystery based on the 2019 Italian film of the same name. Farmiga will play a mother caring for her paraplegic son (played by Miller) in a mysterious mansion. Scott Cooper (Escape the Unknown, The Tower) is set to direct the film from a script by Jack Slipter (Ghost Stories, Escape the Unknown).
A Boy and His Robot: Jojo Rabbit scenestealer Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit, Home Sweet Home Alone) has been cast in the lead role of A Boy and His Robot, a new sci-fi adventure film from director JJ Abrams (Life After Life, The Stand). He will play a boy whose family gets a robot, who will be voiced by Simon Pegg (Task Force X: Chaos and Madness, Run For Your Life). The film is the second collaboration between writers Meirad Tako (The Life After, American Idiot) and Chad Taylor (Broadway, Free Spirit).
