The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 23 Round 3)

 

Three rounds are now in the books, with Round 3 not exactly going how the studio would want. Here's The Roundup....

2. Silver Sable
Silver Sable felt a bit generic to me, but is still more fun than not. Diane Kruger once again shows how good she is at playing the character after initially showing up in Black Cat 2.

1. The House of Romanov
Despite being predictable and depressing, The House of Romanov was still a well made film that was never boring. All of the film's performances were strong, making it an early contender for the Best Ensemble Cast GRA.

3. Lack of Hits
It's too early to panic, but the studio has to be be a little nervous about the lack of hits so far. Usually we've had at least one sizable hit by this point, but not this round. Thankfull for the studio's sake, Task Force X 2, Uncharted 4 and Spider-Man 2 are due out over the course of the next three rounds.

2. Final End
I just couldn't get into Final End. Liam Neeson's character was hard to care about and the story seemed too unfocused, making it harder to follow than it should have been.

It's never a great round at the box office when the three releases combine to lose money.
