Reaction: The first blockbuster of the season has finally arrived with the big box office of this one. It wasn't quite as profitable as the first Task Force X, mostly due to the increased costs (most of went to pay for Jake Gyllenhaal's cameo).
"Task Force X: Chaos and Madness does better in the action department than other recent DC films from writer Jimmy Ellis, like Grayson. There are a lot of characters and moving pieces in the story and sometimes things get lost in the mix, but the film is never boring and always moves at a rapid pace." - Gregory Fletcher, Los Angeles Times-Journal
"I would say the issue with these Task Force X films is that they don't really give you anyone to root for or latch on to. There are a ton of characters, so many that none of them truly get to shine. It's not a poorly made film by any means, it was just hard to care about any of the chaos on screen." - Bobbie Gray-Smith, Sacramento Bee
"The title of Task Force X: Chaos and Madness is definitely not an exaggeration. Once again director Guy Ritchie and writer Jimmy Ellis deliver a movie that is fun to watch but just like the first movie the many characters, even though handled pretty well, make it hard to really connect with it from time to time. It's once again a good superhero movie but I don't know if it can be more than that for someone." - Sam Morris, Oregonian
Rated PG-13 for intense action violence and some language
