Reaction: Final End definitely suffered from some marketability issues. Liam Neeson is a bigger name in action than drama these dates, making it harder to sell a drama film based on his name alone. Plus drama films tend to depend on strong word of mouth, which we're just not sure this one really got.
"Final End is a bit unfocused, but I liked Liam Neeson in the lead role and the film had a nice atmosphere with supporting cast and setting. The lead character is not always likable, but Neeson commits to the role - maybe a bit too much at times. I feel like the script probably needed one more draft, but I was engaged and entertained throughout the story." - Tim Givens, Lexington Ledger
"It was only a matter of time until we had the Liam Neeson blueprint film come to LRF. This man has shown here in LRF that he excels in meaty roles. This was not one of them. I feel like I have seen this film way too many times before, and to top it off it was messy." – Jonah Wells, IndieWire
"Liam Neeson plays a confused rancher in Final End like he's channeling Joe Biden for an SNL skit. He's not necessarily a terrible choice for the grizzled rancher character, but the story often pushes the character into unintentionally funny territory." - Katie Barnes, Washington Herald
Rated R for language and thematic material
