Plot: It’s the last week before summer holidays. Jacob (Jacob Tremblay) and his friend Sunny (Alex R. Hibbert) are sitting on the side watching people long jump because today is the day of the sports festival at their school. To be exact they are not really watching the long jumps but rather the girl who is bending over to measure how far the people jump. Hannah (Haley Lu Richardson) is a senior who is about to go to college and Jacob and Sunny are having a crush on her. Sunny is sure that Hannah has the best body in town and Jacob agrees and adds that he will miss her when she goes to college next year. While the next jumper gets ready they start talking about the summer camp they both will go to. Sunny tells him his parents might not allow him to take his Nintendo Switch with him and he doesn’t know if he can live without it for four weeks. Another student long jumps and Hannah is about to measure his jump distance just as Jacob and Sunny are called by their teacher,

A week later Jacob and Sunny are sitting in the backseat of Jacob’s mothers (Cara Buono) car. They are driving to the summer camp. Jacob’s mother is telling them to behave and listen to the camp counselors. Jacob is struggling to carry his bag alone, so his mother helps him carrying it. When they arrive they are greeted by Hayden (Jacob Elordi) who is one of the camp counselors. Jacob’s mother is telling Hayden about all of Jacob’s allergies and even though he tells her they already know about them and they have them all written down, his mother just continues to list them all off. The boys take their luggage and Hayden brings them to one of the bungalows, that they will share with some other campers. The other campers from their bungalow are already there, they greet them and ask Jacob and Sunny if they want to share the double bunk bed which makes Jacob and Sunny exstatic because it’s exactly what they wanted. Jacob and Sunny say bye to Jacob's mother and go on to explore the campground with their new bungalow roommates.

Kyle (Noah Jupe) is the most talkative of their three roommates and he also seems to lead his two friends. He tells Jacob and Sunny that he and his friends are already here for the third summer in a row. They show Jacob and Sunny around. Kyle mentions his favorite spot is the beach volleyball field because it makes it easy to talk to the girls when they are playing. Suddenly Sunny panically pulls on Jacob’s arm asking him to look at the direction he is looking. Now Jacob sees what his friend is seeing. It’s Hannah and she is walking around with a list of the names of the campers just like Hayden did, she seems to be one of the camp counselors. They both are shamelessly staring at her until she catches them staring and smiles at them. They kind of panic when they see her noticing them staring. Sunny says they should just act unconspicuous, but it doesn’t work. Jacob mentions that Hannah comes closer to them and that he doesn’t know what to do. Hannah is now standing next to them and happily welcomes them to the camp. She also recognizes that they go to the same school she goes to and Jacob awkwardly tells her that he is not sure but that Hannah does look familiar to him. Hannah tells them that they live in bungalow B5 which means that she is responsible for them. If they have any problem or need any help, they can always go to her.

It’s time for lunch and all of the kids and camp counselors meet at the canteen. Hannah and Hayden sit next to each other and talk. Hayden tells her he is really looking forward to get to know her better and asks her how she got this job. She tells him her father is good friends with the camp owner and that’s how she has got it.

The first day at the camp is about to end and Hannah is paying the boys from bungalow B5 a visit. She asks them if everything is alright and they tell her everything is fine. She wishes them a good night and also recruits them for the volleyball tournament she is organizing tomorrow. Hannah asks them to stay in their bungalow until the night is over, because they all would get in trouble if one of the campers is seen wandering around at night. Hannah leaves and the boys have of course no intention of going to sleep. They are talking, joking around, playing with there Nintendo Switches. Just until Kyle has this idea of going over to the girls bungalow and see what they are up to. Jacob is against it, he reminds them of what Hannah just told them, whereupon Kyle calls him a coward. You can tell that Sunny wants to go with them but he doesn’t want to let Jacob down. Kyle talks directly to Sunny, asking him if he is a coward just like his friend or brave enough to come with them. Sunny hesitates and looks over to Jacob, he then mumbles to Kyle that he is brave enough. All except Jacob leave the bungalow acting like it’s a secret mission.

Deep in the night Jacob is woken up by his roommates returning to the bungalow. Sunny is completely enthusiastic about everything he has just experienced, telling Jacob he really missed out by staying at home. He is saying they almost got caught but were to fast for them. The night finally comes to an end when the whole bungalow goes to sleep.

The next morning, the campers are lining up for breakfast but the camp owner Mr. Peterson (Damian Lewis) has something to say. He is pointing out that some people didn’t play after the rules last night and even though they might have felt like they came away with it, there actually weren’t as slick as they thought. Jacob has a slight grin on his face, knowing that his roomates will probably get the punishment they deserve. Mr. Peterson continues his speech and announces that the whole bungalow B5 is going to help with dish washing for the whole week after every lunch! It took a while for Jacob to understand that he is also included in the punishment, even though he stayed in the bungalow. He wants to make clear he has nothing to do with it, but Sunny holds him back and tells him to not say anything. Kyle and the other boys will just hate him if he exludes himself from the punishment. Jacob doesn’t really understand but he trusts Sunny.

After breakfast the boys go to the back of the kitchen to work off their punishment. Kyle lets Jacob know that he really respects him for not avoiding the punishment and sticking together for the group. He also wants to show him and Sunny a little secret they found out last year when they were here. After they are finished with the dish washing Kyle brings them to the youth hostel that is on the campground. He explains to them that they don’t have enough bungalows for every camper and counselor so some of them stay here. Jacob and Sunny have no idea what Kyle is about to show them. They enter the room right next to the girls bathroom. The room is kind of like a junk room, which doesn’t seem to be used often. Kyle proceeds to lock the door and one of his friends puts a chair in the corner of the room. He asks Sunny and Jacob to stand on that chair and take a look though the hole. Jacob goes first, the hole is very tiny but he gets a good look of the empy girls shower room. Kyle ensures them that it’s impossible to notice because the hole is so tiny. Sunny is also taking a look, while Kyle explains his plan to them. He says it’s of course impossible to know when the girls they would like to see naked, plan to shower. So they just have to stay in there to wait and see. They wait for quite a while until the first girl goes to the shower. We only see Kyle looking through the hole, reporting that it’s just Sarah, a girl that non of them is attracted to. Jacob is bored and has had enough, he suggests to the group to go to the volleyball tournament Hannah was talking about last night. But nobody wants to go with him, not even Sunny. Jacob decides to go anyway, Sunny wants to stop him but Kyle tells him it’s ok, because Jacob clearly isn’t ready for what they are about to see.

Jacob comes a bit late to the beach volleyball field and most teams are already complete, but Hannah sees him, greets him as her „little troublemaker“ and asks him where his accomplices are. He tells her they don’t feel like playing volleyball right now and he also needs to say something else. It seems like he wants to tell her, that he had nothing to do with what happened last night, but instead he just tells her that he is sorry for not listening to her. She smiles and tells him she will forget it aslong as he helps her win this tournament.

Hannah and Jqcob’s team is playing great and they have a lot of fun. Hannah is a pretty good volleyball player and Jacob isn’t bad either. Together they win a lot of points and seem to bond over the games. They make their way to the final where they play against Hayden’s team. It’s a pretty close game but in the end Jacob manages to save an almost impossible ball which helps them win the game. The whole team is hugging each other and Jacob and Hannah seem to share an even longer hug. To celebrate their win, Hannah buys every member of her team an ice cream of their choice. The whole team is sitting together and enjoying their ice cream. But with finishing their ice cream most of the team members leave quickly one after another until only Hannah and Jacob are left. She tells him that he played really well and they wouldn't have won without him. Jacob can only give the compliment back as Hannah played even better. Then there is an awkward silence between the two as Jacob is still a bit too shy around Hannah. He just finds the courage to say something right when Hayden appears in front of them. He congratulates them on their victory and asks Hannah if he sees her later when doing the nightwatch and she says yes. Hayden leaves and Hannah also says goodbye to Jacob for now as she really needs to shower before doing the nightwatch.

Jacob now sits alone on the bench, feeling a bit down after Hayden interrupted them, which made Hannah leave. He sees her entering the main building of the camp as his eyes gets wider when he seems to have an idea. He waits a while before entering the main building and the room next to the girl's showers. He sets everything up perfectly to have the best view possible but no one is there. He waits for a while but nothing happens. Jacob already considers to leave until he hears sounds coming from the showers. He quickly gets up on the chair again and takes a look through the hole. It is Hannah and she is standing with her back turned to the hole that Jacob is looking through. She is completely naked and turns on the shower. While showering she turns around exposing her naked front to Jacob, who grows wider and wider eyes by the second. After a while she stops the shower to grab the shampoo and rubs it on her wet body. Jacob is completely speechlees by what he just witnesses, he does nothing but stare with his wide opened eyes. Hannah finishes her shower and leaves the girl's showers while Jacob sits down on the chair he was just standing on. He is still not able to process that he just saw his crush completely naked.

Hannah meets up with Hayden to fullfill their nightwatch duty. It's a quiet night at the camp and so Hannah and Hayden use the time to talk to each other. Hayden clearly is flirting with Hannah but she isn't really flirting back. Hayden is telling her about his ex-girlfriend and how she couldn't keep up with his sexual needs. Hannah seems pretty unimpressed by Hayden's words and checks on her phone through the whole conversation.

After a while Hannah mentions that their nightwatch duty is about to end they can go to their rooms shortly. Hayden asks her if she would like to go to her room, he brought some weed with him for a special occasion and now feels like it's the right moment. Hannah doesn't really want to, but is pretty much urged to do so after Hayden tells her how bad he wants them to be friends and how they will only smoke one joint and than go to bed.

In Hayden's room Hayden starts to roll their joint while Hannah just wants to finally smoke it and go to bed. Hayden lets Hannah smoke first. The weed actually lightens up the mood and even Hannah seems to brighten up, until Hayden wants Hannah to give him a handjob, which she obviously doesn’t want to do. Hayden says if she doesn't do it, he will tell the camp owner that she smoked weed with him, who will probably tell Hannah's father about it. Hayden tells her it's just a handjob and there is nothing to it and she agrees to do it. But it doesn’t stop there, soon after getting Hannah to do it he starts to rape her. After he finished he rolls off of her, leaving a completely shocked and frozen Hannah behind who now starts to cry into the pillow. At the same time in bungalow B5 Jacob is laying in his bed but can't sleep. Everytime he closes his eyes he sees Hannah's naked body in front of him.

The next day at the camp, Jacob and the other campers are informed that Hannah has called in sick for today. While waiting in line for lunch Jacob overhears Hayden talking about last night to another camp counselor. Hayden brags about how he might have been a bit too much for Hannah to handle. Jacob can’t believe what he just heard. Hayden continues to tell the other camp counselor how easy it was for him to get her in bed and how she basically submitted herself to him. The other camp counselor is excited about Hayden’s new „conquest“ and congratulates him for it. After getting his lunch he sits down at a table with the other boys from his bungalow. They also heard about the rumors involving Hannah and Hayden. Kyle tells them he already knew that Hannah seems easy to get with, while Sunny and Jacob are sure Hayden is just lying. Kyle tells them they are just jealous because they just aren’t able to pull a girl like Hannah. Kyle also tells Jacob if he ever wants to get with Hannah he just has to make his move and not dance around her like a little girl.

Later that day Jacob goes up to Hannah’s room to look after her. He is knocking at her door but there is no reaction. He knocks again and is about to leave just when the door opens just a little, so Hannah can just barely look through it. She is suprised to see Jacob and tells him she doesn’t feel in the mood of really welcoming any guests right now. Jacob tells her he knows and he just wanted to see if everything is alright or if she needed any company to make her feel better. She answers that she appreciates his effort but probably just needs some time alone.

Jacob returns to his bungalow, where he tells Kyle and Sunny how Hannah didn’t want to talk to him. Sunny encourages him for even trying to talk to her but Kyle argues that Jacob needs to be more determined and can’t give up after just one day.

The camp is about to come to an end, but the day before the departure there is one last party planned. A lot of the campers treat it like a prom, asking out their crushes to go with them. Hannah is leaving her room again and seems to be in a better place, she is behaving just like her old self and having fun with the campers again. Jacob is in the bathroom looking in the mirror, preparing himself to ask Hannah to go to the party with him. He stumbles over his own words, takes a deep breath and continues preparing in the mirror. Somebody knocks on the bathroom door. It is Sunny who is telling Jacob that he really needs to get in there or else he pees his pants.

Jacob goes outside and sees Hannah from a distance. He nervously goes up to her and musters all his courage to ask her out. Hannah is delighted and tells him how cute she thinks he is. She asks him if he is sure that he doesn’t want to ask any of the campers in his age range out, but Jacob ensures her he only wants to ask her out. Hannah tells him that she is his date and he can pick her up from her room before the party starts.

It’s the day of the final party at the camp and the boys from bungalow B5 are getting ready. They put on their best clothes and it’s pretty clear that all of them are nervous but none of them wants to admit it. Kyle turns to Jacob and tells him that he might have been wrong about Jacob, because it takes real guts to ask an older girl out like he did. Then he proposed it’s time to pick up their dates.

Hannah and Jacob arrive at the party and notice that the dance floor is almost empty. Hannah tells Jacob, that she still has to fulfill her duty as a camp counselor and probably won’t be able to spend much time with him. And just like she said Jacob is pretty much by himself for most of the party, sitting on the side, watching his peers having fun, while Hannah does her best to organize everything at the party.

After a while Hannah finally goes up to Jacob and asks him to dance with her, to which he agrees. They have fun while dancing to a couple upbeat songs until finally a slower song begins to play and Hannah shows Jacob how to dance to those type of songs. They are really close together, which Jacob seems to enjoy, but Hannah notices that one of Jacob’s shoes untied himself and she kneels down to tie them back up. Jacob and Hannah are now eye to eye and Jacob takes his chance and tries to kiss her. Of course Hannah is backing down and asking Jacob what he is doing, who is now very apologetic and embarassed. Hannah tells him it’s fine and he just shouldn’t try it again. She then tells him, she has to go back to her organizing duties and leaves Jacob alone.

Jacob is sitting on the sideline again and observing the dance floor. He sees Hannah and Hayden having a conversation, but can’t hear them. Hannah seems to be mad at Hayden for some reason, while he is just shrugging with his shoulders and laughing at her. Hannah seems to have had enough of their conversation and storms out of the hall. Jacob decides to follow her. He finds her with tears in her eyes sitting on a lonely bench. Jacob wants to know what happened. Hannah tells him „Nothing“, and that Hayden is just an idiot. Jacob is curious why she chose to be with him then and Hannah tells him she never did and that Hayden was pressuring her to be intimate with her. Jacob is shocked. „So he raped you?“ he asks Hannah, but Hannah back paddles and tells him she doesn’t want to make a big thing out of it. Jacob feels like she should tell the police or some other authority, so that Hayden gets atleast punished. Hannah makes Jacob promise to not tell anybody. She tells him it isn't the first time she was touched without her consent and it probably won't be the last time. Her mother once told her that this situation is best handled when you just keep your smile no matter what you feel inside, she tells Jacob. She says she starts to cry everytime some thought from that specific night goes through her mind but she just wants to stay strong. Her eyes get teary after those last words and Jacob awkwardly tries to comfort her which is slowly turning into a hug. He tells her he doesn't feel like it's the way right way to handle the situation, but he knows he has to respect how Hannah wants to handle it.

The next morning the campers already packed their bags and are ready to be collected by their parents. Sunny is coming up to Jacob and apologizes to him for not being a good friend this whole trip. Jacob tells him it's fine, but his thoughts seem to be at other things. The campers are now all waiting for their parents to arrive. Jacob's mother arrives, tells him to hurry up because his sister is waiting in the car and he says goodbye to the campers from his bungalow. Jacob carries his bag alone to the gates of the campground where the counselors check off all the campers that are about leave. Of course Hannah is there too and she already greets him with a big smile. She tells him she was happy to get to know him and hopes he will be back next year. Jacob hugs her one last time until his name gets checked off of Hannah's list too. Jacob and his mother make their way to their car while Hannah continues to say goodbye to the next leaving camper with completely the same procedure, saying she is happy to get to know the camper and hoping the camper will be back next year.

Jacob is taking the backseat because his big sister is sitting in the front. While driving away from the camp he turns around and is still able to see Hannah. She is having fun with the other camp counselors and there is no hint of what happened the last weeks. They get further and further away from the camp and Jacob's view of Hannah gets smaller and smaller until his mother takes a curve and Hannah is not in Jacob's range of vision any more.
