Reaction: The third film in the series for both the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer has become just the second Marvel Universe film to crack $1 billion at the box office, following Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six.

"Delivering on all fronts, the third Fantastic Four movie blends well with Surfer's third appearance. So much so that I look forward Last Resort's Marvel future. I like watching this cast but I still like the script is still a bit too minimalistic. I recommend the film, despite the cameo that made me roll my eyes." - Roseanne Berry, Comingsoon.net

"There are definitely some hokey moments in Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer - especially the Yankee Stadium scene - but moments like those have always been a part of Marvel Comics, so it suits the adaptation. I missed some of the smaller character moments the F4 had in previous films, but it makes sense as this film is still clearly more a part of the Surfer's emotional journey that started all the way back in Season 3 than anything F4 related." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"This is a film that is a bit hard to evaluate given that, despite being a team-up of sorts itself, it's also clearly a key cog for something bigger. And with that task, Newton and Edwards made an efficient blockbuster that felt more apocalyptic sci-fi disaster film than superhero at times—and I enjoyed that a lot. On the flip side, this efficiency ends up cutting out the smaller character moments that may not be essential to the stakes but would go a long way in terms of emotional investment with the team." - Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune

Rated PG-13 for scenes of superhero action and peril
