Reaction: At the end of the day, for its subject matter and genre this film simply cost too much money to have much of a shot at profits, especially considering drama films don't travel very well overseas and Adam Sandler doesn't have as much of a box office draw outside of the United States.
"Adam Sandler delivers a fine performance in this film. The plotting and structure were a little confusing at times, but I imagine that was Vinterberg and Buck's way of trying to keep the audience more engaged. I liked the film, even if it isn't an easy film to watch." - Cal Crowe, Washington Globe
"Once more, Adam Sandler has demonstrated a more serious side of himself that viewers (me included) have been hoping to witness for a long time. Although the storyline is not particularly unique in light of the #MeToo movement, Vinterberg's direction is solid but not remarkable in comparison to the countless other celebrity scandals that have come to light in recent times." - Dallas Atteberry, Belton Journal
"Aside from some of the doubt the filmmakers chose to throw in with the story structure and how/what they reveal information, I felt like I consistently knew where this one was heading. It hit most of the beats I was expecting - just with a frustrating lack of resolution in the end. The performers all give their all, even if some characters feel like wasted afterthoughts (I was surprised Chris Tucker agreed to his role specifically)." - Leslie Vandergort, Minneapolis Star Tribune
Rated R for language, violence, sexual content/nudity, drug use and thematic material
