The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 28 Round 2)

The good times mostly continue here in Round 2 of Season 28. Here's The Roundup....

3. Who Do You Trust When the World is at War?
It took a long while to get going, but Meirad Tako's latest had a way of slowly drawing you into the story. Definitely one of Tako's best works yet - especially as a writer-director.

2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Walter McKnight is cornering the market on animated remakes right now. Not only has he been picking the right projects, but he's also been making the right changes to the material.

1. The Beat Goes On
What a great movie! Great music, great setting, great characters, etc. I loved its scale and ambition to capture the zeitgeist of American pop music. I expect to see this film mentioned a lot as we get closer to GRA season.

3. N/A

2. Box Office
The box office has been pretty good so far with four of the first six films making a profit, but the two films that lost money have lost a pretty big amount so far. If that trend continues, it could start to eat away at profits from the hit films.

1. Will Smith
I don't like Will Smith. Never have. He didn't ruin the film, but it definitely took me a little longer to get into the film because of him. That said, he gave easily the best performance of his career in The Beat Goes On.  So congrats on that, but I still don't like him.
