Resume: Nick Robinson

Nick Robinson started his LRF career with a bang back in Season 2, but since then has mostly appeared little-seen, poorly-received films. He's back with what could be a return to form for the young actor this round in Amityville. Here's a deeper look at his filmography....

Season 2
Blood Meridian
Director: Jeremy Saulnier
Writer: Dwight Gallo

Budget: $67,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $43,749,080
Foreign Box Office: $54,621,877
Total Profit: -$5,438,685

Nick Robinson's LRF career started off strong with Blood Meridian. While the film just missed out on a profit, critics adored the dark, brutal western, which even managed a Best Picture nomination (back when there were only 3 nominees).

Season 4
Synthetic
Director: Francis Lawrence
Writer: Mark Newton

Budget: $68,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $97,686,046
Foreign Box Office: $120,132,807
Total Profit: $19,043,757

Robinson had his first taste of box office success as well as another film nominated for Best Picture on his resume with Synthetic, where he plays a young man raised by two robots to be the future of mankind.

Demons
Director: Eli Roth
Writer: Gabe Winsor

Budget: $19,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $19,841,060
Foreign Box Office: $35,420,452
Total Profit: $2,685,711

Later in the same season, Robinson had a role in the ensemble of the horror remake Demons. The film did manage to make a little money, but critics were, well, critical of this film - the only film from writer Gabe Winsor.

Season 8
Queen Mary
Director: Eli Roth
Writer: Alex Conn

Budget: $25,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $19,901,855
Foreign Box Office: $24,225,979
Total Profit: -$10,999,968

Robinson was back in Season 8 to re-team with Demons director Eli Roth on the Youtube-themed horror project, Queen Mary. Despite featuring a murderer's row of hot young Hollywood talent, Queen Mary flopped at the box office and with critics.

Season 11
Isla Vista
Director: Luca Guadagnino
Writers: Alex Conn & Chad Taylor

Budget: $24,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $18,704,936
Foreign Box Office: $13,879,112
Total Profit: -$15,481,438

Critics were mixed on Robinson's next project, the true crime film about Elliot Rodger, the 2014 Isla Vista shooter. Audiences didn't seem much more interested than the critics as the film was another flop for Robinson (his first as the top-billed talent).

Season 21
Rookie's Road
Director: Todd Phillips
Writer: Jacob Jones

Budget: $50,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $42,590,446
Foreign Box Office: $20,398,485
Total Profit: -$28,060,826

Ten seasons after Isla Vista, Robinson was finally back with Rookie's Road, a was action/comedy. The film was another critical and financial flop for Robinson - his third in a row.

Season 24
Midnight Tales
Directors: David Bruckner, Fede Alvarez, Adam Wingard & John Carpenter
Writers: Jack Slipter, Andrew Doster & Ben Collins

Budget: $27,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $12,580,588
Foreign Box Office: $10,348,945
Total Profit: -$27,430,234

Robinson was next seen in Season 24 as part of the ensemble cast of the studio's first (and so far only) attempt at an old-school horror anthology film. Critics were slightly favorable toward the film, but it was yet another sizable box office flop.

Season 25
Survive the Night
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Writer: Eden Townsend

Budget: $32,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $26,438,106
Foreign Box Office: $18,923,555
Total Profit: -$17,734,909

Just one season later, Nick Robinson was back on the big screen in the novel adaptation Survive the Night. Critics were once again slightly favorable to this one, but it ended up becoming the fifth box office flop in a row for Robinson.

Up Next:
Nick Robinson has not yet lined up another project after Amityville, but if the early buzz is any indicator, that may not last for long.
