Reaction: Given some of the recent box office successes of its star and filmmakers, we were definitely hoping for a better box office turn-out than this.

Instead, we got a pretty faithful adaptation of Richard Matheson's novel, sticking it pretty closely to other adaptations of the text and making it feel dated at times. Reitman was comfortable in his direction, feeding us his flavor of quirky humor we've come to love him for. While I wasn't too high on Andrew Garfield in the lead, he did seem a little undercooked in his performance only giving us something serviceable but not quite memorable as many other adaptations that we've seen before, for instance Eddie Murphy as the Nutty Professor was so much different from Jerry Lewis' interpretation.
