Reaction: This Marvel Universe production ended up with very similar box office to The Immortal Iron Fist from Round 5. Like that one, Nick Fury is a very successful film without being a huge blockbuster.

"I wasn’t sure whet to expect coming into this film, but I have to say I had a blast. Without spoiling the film, the twist was shocking. The whole time I just kept thinking this was a true comic book. It was fun, full of banter and great action scenes. Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos, caught me off guard with just how fun it was, and you will see that from the opening scene." - J. Darrell Ellington, Behind the Camera

"Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos was fun from start to finish. It may not have the weight of some of writer Chad Taylor's other comic book projects, but it possesses a fun mix of action, comedy and thrills like the best of Roland Emmerich's films. Milla Jovovich gives a sultry, seductive villainous performance as Dracula's daughter that makes you want to see more of her on the big screen." - Henry Stewart, Chicago Sun-Times

"Jay Ellis is clearly having a lot more fun as Nick Fury than Denzel Washington had before him. The cast here has a lot of chemistry, with their banter being almost as much fun as the tone and period action. I was a little worried when Roland Emmerich was announced to direct, but he delivers a film that thankfully feels more like his strong 1990's output (Stargate, Independence Day) than his weaker recent output (Moonfall, Independence Day: Resurgence)." - Gregory Fletcher, Los Angeles Times-Journal

Rated PG-13 for intense adventure violence, some sensuality and brief strong language
