Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos: Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World, Phoenix), Louis Garrel (Monaco, The Innocent), D'Arcy Carden (Shotgun Wedding, Bombshell) and James Earl Jones (Coming 2 America, Warning Shot) are set to round out the cast of the 1950s set Marvel Universe production, Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos. Roland Emmerich is the director of the soon-to-be-released film, which was written by Chad Taylor.
Thorne: The Tom Hardy-led pirate adventure, Thorne, has added David Morrissey (X-Men: The Cure, "Sherwood"), Rhys Ifans (Kingmaker Chronicles, Blood Countess), Ismael Cruz Cordova ("The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power", Miss Bala) and Pilou Asbaek (Samaritan, Hidden Strike) to its ensemble cast. Morrissey will play a British Naval captain, Ifans a pirate ship captain, while Cordova and Asbaek are playing pirate crew members. Jennifer Kent directs the film from a script by Jimmy Ellis.
The Untitled Paul Nichols Project: Margarita Levieva (Ruthersville Brazil, "The Deuce"), Hugo Weaving (The Void, An Eye For An Eye) and Jason Alexander ("Hit the Road", Wild Card) have joined the Jesse Eisenberg-led showbiz drama The Untitled Paul Nichols Project. Spike Jonze is directing the film from a script penned by Wyatt Allen.
Rock Paper Scissors: Anthony Hopkins (Revelations, Free the Chicago Seven!), Annabelle Wallis (Star Trek: Enterprise, Malignant) and Jon Tenney ("Major Crimes", I See You) will complete the cast of Rock Paper Scissors, an adaptation of the novel by Alice Feeney. Hopkins will play a famous author, Wallis will play an actress starring in a film based on one of his books, while Tenney will play a private investigator. Lynne Ramsay directs the film from an adaptation by Rene Menzie and Harmony Winters.
Red Riding Blood: Writer Andrew Doster (Tinseltown, The Last of the Mohicans) has Flames in theaters right now and will have another horror project due out soon with Red Riding Blood. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Long Way Home), Emile Hirsch (The Lights, The Hippie Preacher) and Patricia Clarkson (The Vacationers, Suzanne) will star in the film. Winstead and Hirsch will play photographers who stop at a motel on the way to an important photoshoot. Clarkson will play the owner of the motel, who may know about a series of disappearances in the area. Dan Trachtenberg (Lost Planet, 10 Cloverfield Lane) has been hired to direct the film.
Gears of War 2: Joel Edgerton (Gears of War, The Champions of Angor), Edgar Ramirez (Gears of War, Justice League Europe), Glen Powell (Wolfenstein, Captain America) and Terry Crews (Gears of War, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine") are all set to return as the stars of Gears of War 2, sequel to the hit video game film from Season 20. They will once again play Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Damon Baird and Augustus Cole, respectively - members of an elite COG team fighting in the war against the Locust Horde. In this film the war continues, as a new threat from the Locust Queen's army threatens the last human stronghold on the planet Sera. Zack Snyder (Elektra, Gears of War) is back to direct the sequel once again from a script by Mark Newton (Pompeii, Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer).
