The Star Power Index was created by a team of data analysts, who have examined the LRF careers of many Hollywood stars to determine their current level of star power. This rating has taken into account only their LRF roles and has taken into consideration many different factors: starring roles, box office success, critical acclaim, GRAs, recency of their success (the more recent the better), etc.
Today's edition will over the Top 25 Male Stars of the moment; to be eligible for this list, actors must have appeared in an LRF film in the last five seasons. Without further adieu...
25. John Cena (86.4 ⬆)
The biggest beneficiary from Season 28 thus far, Duke Nukem's smashing success means Cena's star has seen a sudden rise after having been a Jacob Jones regular up until this point. Cena possesses a unique star persona that was tapped into for his eponymous video game stud but how will he be able to parlay that going forward?
24. Glen Powell
23. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
22. Matthew McConaughey
21. Mahershala Ali
20. Keanu Reeves
19. Daniel Craig
18. Nicolas Cage (89.2 ⬇)
17. Vince Vaughn (89.8 ⬆)
Cage has had a varied career at LRF as he has in Hollywood, splitting his time between over-the-top genre fare and awards-worthy performances. His rating slightly dipped from the relatively low box office of The Spectre but his name certainly still carries some weight. Vaughn, meanwhile, benefits from the one-two punch of having been the main villain in the most recent Spider-Man entry and winning Best Actor for his role in Territory last season.
16. George Clooney
15. Lucas Hedges
14. Mel Gibson
13. Bradley Cooper
12. Ryan Gosling
11. Tom Hanks (93.0 ⬆)
While obviously an established star outside of LRF, Hanks has really started to blossom at the studio in the last ten seasons. He's won Best Supporting Actor twice, Best Starring Couple twice, appeared in a prominent comic book franchise, and is now in contention to land his first Best Actor nomination at the studio.
10. Aidan Turner
9. Billy Magnussen
8. Alexander Skarsgard
7. Kyle Chandler (94.5 ⬆)
6. Jake Gyllenhaal (95.6 ⬇)
These two are actors are some of the most steadily employed in LRF, dating back to the studio's start. Chandler may not be the same level of headliner as others on this list but he's become one of the most lauded actors in studio history, appearing in multiple Best Picture winners and often leaving an impact no matter how big his role. Gyllenhaal is a box office powerhouse, having now made eight appearances as Batman. However, he's also not had a non-Batman performance since Season 14 (resulting in a slight dip in his rating).
5. Dan Stevens
4. Alden Ehrenreich
3. Tom Hardy (97.1 --)
2. Tom Cruise (99.3 --)
1. Leonardo DiCaprio (99.6 --)
The top four here all have had arguments in the past to claim LRF's top star. Hardy was an MVP of LRF's first ten or so seasons, balancing blockbusters with serious dramas and has been the lead in two films that have cracked a 90 Metascore (a rare feat). Cruise was the first recipient of the Golden Reel of Achievement Award and, after a successful run in the Splinter Cell franchise, has now seen a variety of work in recent times — almost always yielding big box office returns. But it is DiCaprio who tops the charts at the moment on the back of an astonishing fifth Best Actor win in Season 26. We eagerly anticipate his next move as there's a hotbed of contenders gunning for Caesar's crown.
