Behind the Scenes: Cosa Nostra - Featurette #1

Writer James Morgan (Into Thin Air, Guilt) has provided us with a behind the scenes look at his upcoming film Cosa Nostra, the prequel to his Season 1 hit The Raven in the Night, directed by Denis Villeneuve (101, Blade Runner 2049).....




V.O (Robert De Niro) : My family has ruled over this city for as long as I can remember. Today, many people want to take it away from me.

We see a dark, poorly lit alley, several men are standing and a luxurious car comes in, with several other cars escorting it. Everyone comes out, with leather jackets on and a gun, of course. The man who looks like their leader comes out of the luxurious car.
Man : Hey, listen, we just want to buy some guns, alright. You didn’t need to bring everyone.

Stan Hollyfield (Sam Rockwell) : Well, I’m the one who’s selling, so I’m the one who decides what I’m doing, this is my town, my city!

Man: Hey, look, chief. Carmine rules this town, everyone knows, it. I don’t even know your name!

One of Hollyfield’s men is starting to get really agitated. Stan takes a look at the guy, Johnny Bolton, also known as Loose Cannon (Benjamin Walker). Bolton signals to Hollyfield that he could take care of the guy if he wants to. Hollyfield declines.

Stan Hollyfield : Well, you shouldn’t buy guns, illegal, at least, from someone whose name you don’t know, don’t you think.

Man : Look, man. I didn’t come here to have English lessons, alright. Just let me buy the guns and we all go home, or wherever you come from.

Stan Hollyfield (looking really irritated) : How much do you have.

Man : Calm down, dude, I didn’t even see the guns, yet.

Stan Hollyfield (looking even more irritated) : Well, dude, I don’t even know if you have the cash.

Man : I had enough of this bullshit…

He walks in Hollyfield’s direction

Stan Hollyfield : Where the f*ck do you think you’re going ?

Johnny Bolton grabs the man by the throat and points his shotgun towards his head.

Man (afraid) : Tell your guy to let me go, mother******

Hollyfield takes something out of his jacket, a pair of American knuckles. He puts them on and starts to beat the man. Blood is dripping down the man’s face and he’s barely conscious.

Stan Hollyfield (enraged) : My name is Stan Hollyfield and you’re going to learn to respect me!

Stan leaves in his car, as his men kill the remaining guys. They drive a couple blocks and he gets down and enters a building. He takes the elevator and enters in a room. He sits at a table.
