In Development

Swim Through the Darkness: Steve McQueen and Chad Taylor's Swim Through the Darkness has added to its cast with Jonathan Groff ("Mindhunter", "Looking"), Bruce Greenwood (Gerald's Game, The Post), Iranian actor Payman Maadi (A Separation, Camp X-Ray) and British-Indian actress Alia Bhatt (Kapoor & Sons, Raazi) all joining the film. Groff will play an old friend of troubled musician Craig Smith aka Maitreya Kali (John Gallagher Jr.), Greenwood will play a singer Groff and Gallagher Jr. play with, while Maadi and Bhatt will play people Craig Smith encounters while traveling the once famed "Hippie Trail".

Death Dream: Young actors Angourie Rice (Welcome to Paradise, Sinkhole), K.J. Apa (A Dog's Purpose, "Riverdale") and Will Poulter (The Revenant, Detroit) have all joined David Robert Mitchell's upcoming Alden Ehrenreich-led thriller Death Dream. Rice will play Ehrenreich's younger sister, Apa will play an old friend, and Poulter will play a fellow soldier. John Malone wrote the script based on a 1974 film directed by Bob Clark.

Dead Space: David Ayer's latest, video game adaptation Dead Space, is quickly assembling its cast, adding Terrence Howard (Cardboard Boxer, "Empire"), Josh Duhamel (Transformers: The Last Knight, Love, Simon) and the recently busy Alan Tudyk (Detective James, Halo: ODST) to supporting roles in the film.

Shake Hands with the Devil: Going from Halo to a drama about genocide is quite the jump, but writer Dominic Wilkins and actors Liev Schreiber ("Ray Donovan", Shake Hands with the Devil) and Laurence Fishburne (Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow) are all reuniting on Shake Hands with the Devil after their work on Halo: ODST. Somali actor Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips, Good Time) has also joined the Liam Neeson-led film). Bennett Miller is set to direct.

Uncharted: Once again, Last Resort Films will look to bring a project out of long term development hell with the production of video game adaptation Uncharted. To help with the effort they have cast Ryan Reynolds (Life, Deadpool 2) and two-time Golden Reel Award winner Brie Larson (The Child Martyr, Heart of Stone) to headline the project. Reynolds will play treasure hunter Nathan Drake, while Larson will play a reporter covering his search for the treasure rumored to be discovered by Sir Francis Drake in the Amazon rainforest. Brad Peyton (Rampage, San Andreas) has been hired to direct the project based on a script by APJ (Batman: Gotham Knight, Alan Wake).

Bonnie and Clyde: After his Lucky Luke films, Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Lucky Luke and Calamity Jane) has decided to work for the studio again. This time he will direct a fairly radical re-imagining of the story of Bonnie and Clyde written by Chad Taylor (Sinkhole, The Beatles). Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Dishonest), coming off the box office disappointment of Dishonest, has been cast as new take on Clyde Barrow. For the role of Bonnie, Elizabeth Olsen (The Prisoner, Atlantic City) has been tapped to play the part.
