Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Power: Dolph Lundgren (Berserker, Masters of the Universe) and Virginia Madsen (Ghost Rider, So This Is What It Feels Like) are also returning for the long-awaited sequel to Masters of the Universe as King Randor and Queen Marlena, the leaders of Eternia and the parents of Prince Adam aka He-Man. Rufus Sewell (Tail, The Water Cure) has also signed onto the film as the villainous Hordak. Len Wiseman directs the cartoon adaptation from a script by Mark Newton.
The Scam of Success: Tilda Swinton (The Driftwood Populace, Blackbird), Ryder Allen (Heartstone, Palmer) and Frankie Muniz (Half Baked: Totally High, The Black String) have joined Wes Anderson's latest directorial effort, The Scam of Success. Allen will play a young scam artist who challenges the main character, played by Bill Murray. Swinton will play a struggling comedian, while Muniz will play a local musician. Jacob Jones penned the film.
An Anonymous Girl: Jay Ellis (Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos, Top Gun: Maverick), Erin Kellyman (Gracie, Forever Hold the Peace) and Chase Stokes ("Outer Banks", Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets) have all joined An Anonymous Girl, the latest novel adaptation from writer Rosie JoLove. Ellis will play the male lead, a man caught between the female leads played by Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence. Kellyman and Stokes have signed on for supporting roles in the film. Cate Shortland is directing the film.
Tarzan: It was announced at the latest Comic-Con that Jason Momoa (Ranger, The Fall Guy) would headline a new Tarzan film. He will be re-teaming with his Aquaman director James Wan (Resident Evil 5, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) on the project. Hayley Atwell (Pulp, INFINITY) has been cast as the femal lead, Jane Porter, while Timothy Spall (Klondike, The Sandman) will play her father. APJ (The Champ, Swamp Thing 2) penned the script based on the character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Tamahagane: Writers Jimmy Ellis (The Final Will, Thorne) and Wyatt Allen (A German Tragedy, The Untitled Paul Nichols Project) have teamed up for the first time on Tamahagane, a film about a renowned swordsmith in feudal Japan who yearns to pass his skills on to a worthy successor.
Tatsuya Nakadai (Human Trust, Lear on the Shore) will play the swordsmith, Mackenyu (Hiroshima, "One Piece") will play a young farmer, Koji Yakusho (Hakkenden, Perfect Days) will play a warrior landlord in the region, and Koyuki ("Boogie Woogie", A Mother's Touch) will play the swordsmith's granddaughter. Japanese filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, Evil Does Not Exist) will direct the project.
Rediscovered Harmonies: Emilia Jones (The Girls, AKA Billy the Kid) has been cast in the lead role in Rediscovered Harmonies about young woman who dreams of being a singer who must find her voice again after a life-changing accident. Caitriona Balfe (The Hammer of Thor, "Outlander") has been cast as Jones' mother, while Stanley Tucci (Malik, Danelion) has been cast as a doctor in the film. Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Can You Ever Forgive Me?) has been tasked with directing the film from a script by Ben Collins (Becoming Carole Lombard, Vampire).
