Breaking News

Just as Last Resort Films president Phil Dolan promised, there is news regarding the studio's "monster universe." After hitting it big with their early releases of Birth of Frankenstein (over $322 million worldwide) and Dracula Origins (over $526 million worldwide) Dolan announced the studio would be fast tracking all of the monster movies they were actively developing. We now have word on what those movies will be. Joining Dracula Origins, Birth of Frankenstein and the upcoming Creature from the Black Lagoon, will be The Mummy, The Wolfman as well as sequels to Birth of Frankenstein and Dracula Origins. The Mummy is about to start shooting in Morocco and Jordan shortly. There are more movies planned, but they are not far enough along to talk about specifics, although inside sources suggest that Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and The Invisible Man will most likely among the films we see in the next season or two. Dolan has also elaborated on how the movies will be connected. He says that each monster will start with their own solo story, but will start to add recurring characters in the sequels that will help tie the stories together. Dolan says that eventually they would like to do a sort-of team up movie allowing the various monsters to share the screen together.
