Reaction: It's unfortunate that Jonestown ended up in the red. We aggressively marketed the film, but ultimately it didn't pay off. In fact, maybe a little less marketing expenses could have possibly avoided the loss. At least it didn't lose Invisible Monsters money...

"Jonestown is a return to form for Oliver Stone - arguably his best film since JFK - featuring a tour-de-force performance from Josh Brolin." - Henry Stewart, Chicago Sun-Times

"The worry with a movie like Jonestown is that it could trivialize and exploit the tragedy of the Jonestown Massacre for cheap thrills and a quick buck, but Oliver Stone has instead crafted a well-thought, respectful portrait that honors the lives that were lost." - Matthew Ellis, USA Today

"Josh Brolin has finally established himself as an A-list star with his mesmerizing performance as Jim Jones. Never before has someone been able to switch between complete menace and cool charm as Brolin does in this film." - Gillian Donaldson, Variety
