In Development

The Associate: Last Resort Films has reportedly hired James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, The Circle) to direct Shia LaBeouf in their John Grisham adaptation. This ends the long drawn-out drama that started with difficulty choosing a leading man, then led to director Gavin O'Connor quitting when he didn't get his choice of lead actor, and finally to Shia LaBeouf and studio head Phil Dolan meeting with several directors of the past couple days.

Lancelot: The studio was looking for a bigger name as King Arthur to team up with Kit Harington's Lancelot in this film based on the Arthurian legends. They have found their bigger name as Russell Crowe has just signed on to play the legendary king. They are apparently having some trouble casting the role of Guinevere. Before Crowe was cast, the studio was looking at fairly well-know actresses for the female lead, but now that they have a big name in the cast their search is now focused on little-known actresses.

XIII: Taylor Kitsch ("True Detective", John Carter) has apparently beat out the likes of Luke Evans and Chris Pine to land the lead role in a film based on Jean Van Hamme and William Vance's Belgian graphic novel series XIII. He will play an amnesiac who gets caught up in an international conspiracy involving the assassination of the President of the United States.

The Last of Us: Last Resort Films has quietly purchased the film rights to the widely acclaimed video game The Last of Us set in a hostile, post-pandemic US. They have hired Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) to direct.
