Plot: Kazumi came to the Mishima dojo when she was still a young girl. As she trains alongside Heihachi, they first became fierce rivals and eventually fell madly in love once they grew up. Heihachi (Jason Scott Lee) and Kazumi (Tao Okamoto) get married in a confidential and romantic ceremony, also writing their names on the Aiaigasa-style boarding of the temple, a sweet expression to show love between them. A few months later their first child named Kazuya was born with whom they were madly in love, especially her. One day, while the two were training while having fun, the woman was taken by a great heat inside her and collapses to the ground in the throes of a very high fever. Heihachi carries her in his arms and takes her to bed to cure her.

Suddenly, during the night, she gets out of bed trying to attack Heihachi with a sharp object that was on the bedside table but the man manages to defend himself and she falls unconscious again. The next day Kazumi appears to have recovered and she does not remember anything of what happened. For a while, Heihachi believed that Kazumi suffered from a split personality disorder. He convinces her to see a doctor and she takes drugs and for a few weeks nothing strange happened. One day everything changed. Heihachi was practicing his martial arts moves in the dojo, Kazumi appears behind him saying that one day he would become a great threat to the world and for that he had to die. Heihachi turns confused and is hit by a punch that sends him violently against a wall. The two begin to fight although Heihachi tries to hit his wife slowly trying to make her reason. At one point Kazumi reveals to him why she married him. Her family, the Hachijo clan, is a clan that has been carrying the devil gene for many centuries and kills anyone who could threaten the peace of the world. From Kazumi's subsequent words it is clear that she tried to resist her mission to kill Heihachi for love, but this made her sick and it seems that she gradually lost control of her demonic self, possibly indicating that she was breaking a pre-established agreement. between her clan and the entity within her. At that point Kazumi lets out her demonic self by rushing towards her Heihachi.

After a long and grueling fight, Kazumi attempts to kill Heihachi with a Devil's Beam but she misses him, prompting her to punch him in the face. Heihachi hits her in the groin with a powerful uppercut, seemingly killing her as she reverts to her human form. After Heihachi approaches her stroking her face and turns to leave, Kazumi transforms back into her demonic form to attack him but he manages to block her and grab her by her neck. Desperate, Kazumi warns her husband of the chain of her hatred and begs him to release her because of their mutual love. Despite her pleas, Heihachi convinced that it is her trap, declares that he was no longer the Kazumi she knew of her and breaks her neck, killing her. As Kazumi lay dead on the floor, Heihachi looks at her for a moment, wiping a tear from her face. Then Heihachi full of anger enters the house and begins to break everything and then kneels on the ground and notices a photograph and tears it up.

Little Kazuya Mishima is in the mountain and is training. At one point he hears noises and meets a little girl named Jun who is crying after seeing a puma kill a helpless little rabbit. Kazuya tries to console Jun by saying that he offers to kill the cougar but at that moment Heihachi appears full of anger and drags his son away and then drops him into a deep ravine, but not before having ripped a medallion from his son's neck containing an image of Kazumi and throwing it aside. Kazuya screams as he falls into the abyss. Jun who was initially pushed by Heihachi saying not to intrude, she tried unsuccessfully to locate Kazuya. When she in tears she finds the locket she holds it tight and decides to keep it with her.

Jun (Satomi Ishihara) wakes up sweating after yet another nightmare that saw the scene of Kazuya falling into the ravine. She gets up and opens the drawer next to the bed, taking a look at the locket. The next day she goes to work at the headquarters of WWWC, a government agency that deals with the protection of protected animal species and environmental crimes. Her boss shows her videos and photographs depicting the remains of a mysterious animal that was fished out of the sea but which was stolen before it could be studied. Jun takes the case file and reads that there were traces of DNA on the network and she is baffled when she realizes that the animal was a hybrid resulting from some human-induced genetic mutation or experiment. The investigations seem to converge on the Mishima Corporation, a giant multinational that has its roots in many sectors, some of them shady. Jun's boss orders her to investigate even though she points out that the Mishima Corporation headquarters is on an island that is protected like a fortress by many trained soldiers. The man hands her an invitation to a special martial arts tournament that will take place on the island called the King of Iron Fist Tournament where the best fighters in the world will clash. From a photograph she is shocked to discover that the tournament organizer is Heihachi, the man she saw throwing his son into the ravine. In fact, until then her mind had removed the man's face. She will be joined in the operation by the famous Lei Wulong (Harry Shum Jr.), The detective number 1 of the Hong Kong International Police Force who also received the invitation to participate in the tournament. The two already seem to know each other and he almost seems to have some feelings for her, but certainly not reciprocated. Lei Wulong is known for his lighthearted personality and relaxed demeanor, for his extraordinary skill as a martial artist and for his dedication to his work.

Shortly after we also briefly see other fighters who have decided to participate in the tournament. A Native American, Michelle Chang (Kelsey Asbille) leaves her village to take revenge on Heihachi ,rising fighting star Paul Phoenix (Peyton Meyer) is in a bar chatting with three girls next to him until he receives the tournament invitation under a mug of beer, a big man (Randy Orton) with a little girl (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) on his shoulders who leave a destroyed area.

Meanwhile, Heihachi is meditating until he is disturbed by his adopted son Lee Chaolan (Manny Jacinto), the deputy director of Mishima Zaibatsu who wants information on the tournament. Heihachi says he found out that his son Kazuya is still alive and that he organized the tournament to bring him out and confront him. Lee Chaolan leaves the room and contacts Nina Williams (Katheryn Winnick), a famous assassin to find and kill Kazuya because Lee fears that he will take over the company, which Lee would like to do if the opportunity arises. Shortly thereafter she also contacts her sister Anna Williams (Emily Beecham) giving her the same assignment.

It is night, Kazuya (Charles Melton) is in a motel and seems to have become a bitter and vengeful man. Also in the last period he has some strange nightmares and he feels that something is changing inside him. Suddenly he hears noises outside the window and gets alert. Outside Nina is lowering herself from the roof and stands in front of the window of Kazuya's room, she starts shooting and then enters the room breaking through the glass. Kazuya surprises her and attacks the woman behind her. Nina breaks free from his grip and they begin to fight brutally until Kazuya, who is convinced that she was sent there by Heihachi, manages to give her a powerful double kick that sends her out the window. But Nina manages to throw a grenade and then uses a device to avoid getting hurt during the fall. The grenade explodes destroying the room but Kazuya manages to escape just in time. Meanwhile Anna watches the scene giggling at her sister's failure. On the same night Jun and Lei are studying the information they have about the island where the tournament will be held, assuming that there is a gigantic secret base in the underground part.

The next day Jun and Lei head to the port where ships will have to bring the fighters to the island. When they arrive there are guards who are arguing with a big man named Jack, with a little girl named Jane on his back. A guard tries to hit him but he throws him into the water. The other guards are about to shoot him but Jun and Lei intervene disarming and defeating them. Also present in the clash is Paul Phoenix who also disarms the last guard, which the two had not noticed. Lee looks out of the ship wondering why there was all this confusion. One of the guards says that Jack wanted to participate in the tournament without having received the invitation. Lee looks at him and orders his bodyguard Bruce Irvin (Mustafa Shakir) to fight him by telling Jack that if he defeats him he will be able to participate in the tournament. Meanwhile, she immediately recognizes Bruce, a former kick-boxing champion who had long since disappeared after he was accused of killing two men. Jack puts the baby on the ground telling her to be quiet because she won't lose. Jun goes there and takes the little girl by the hand away from there. Bruce teases Jack for the moving scene and they start fighting demonstrating Jack's incredible strength who defeats the opponent with incredible ease leaving everyone amazed. Jun continues to look at the child because she feels that she is seriously ill. Jun and Lei walk around their ship taking a look at the fighters present. Wulong sees a Native American girl who looks at the sea with a melancholy and concentrated gaze, the man says that she does not look like a fighter but Jun takes him back and tells him to get rid of the idea that women can't fight. Kazuya is also present in the ship, hiding in the hold to go unnoticed. Lee seems to be aware of this but does nothing about it. After many hours of navigation the ships arrive on the island. Lee tells everyone that the tournament would start at dawn the next day and gives instructions on where to spend the night. Jun catches a glimpse of Kazuya sneaking out of the ship and recognizes him immediately.

That night Jun is unable to sleep and goes to the balcony holding the medallion in his hand and sees Kazuya entering the gym and starting to train. Jun reaches him and tries to return the medallion to him by telling him that she is the girl he had known when he was little because initially Kazuya had said no and had thrown the medallion away. The girl then tries to convince him to send away the hatred and not to take revenge on Heihachi but Kazuya categorically refuses stating that he survived the fall from the ravine because he sold his soul to the devil and that his only reasons for living are anger and hatred. Suddenly, during the discussion, a metal wire coils around Kazuya's neck, threatening to suffocate him. The camera shows Nina. Jun intervenes by attacking and distracting her, saving Kazuya so Kazuya who manages to get rid of her and fight the blonde woman against her. The fight between the two ends outside where Anna is holding a grenade launcher in her arms making fun of her sister by telling her it's embarrassing for a killer to fail twice. At that point she shoots some grenades in the direction of Nina, Kazuya and Jun who manage to survive with skill. Nina notices that the last one had bounced and was heading towards a little girl, Jane, who had come out of her hiding place intrigued by her noise. Nina in a moment of humanity runs towards her child, hugging her practically shielding her body. The grenade explodes but nothing happens to her because Jack had stood in front of them and suffered practically no injuries. Nina realizing that she had a weakness she runs away. Meanwhile, the noises have attracted everyone's attention, including Heihachi, who sees Kazuya from his building and smiles because his plan to attract him has worked.

The next day the fighters find themselves in front of the Heihachi building. Wulong exposes the plan to Jun saying that he has managed to find the entrance to the underground base but Jun says that he will not follow him and that he will participate in the tournament to follow Kazuya. Heihachi and Lee appear from the balcony and greet the competitors and lay out the rules. Competitors will have to start at different points on the island and will have to reach the central tower where Heihachi is present, facing each other when they meet someone. While Heihachi is speaking Kazuya whispers that he will kill him. Paul is next to Michelle and asks her why she seems so nervous. She suddenly pushes him away screaming at Heihachi who will kill him to avenge his father's death and throws her Tomahawk at him, which manages to block the weapon while laughing despite being directed at his forehead.

The tournament begins. Lee monitors the matches through cameras and computers and notices that some contestants have disappeared from the radar. He doesn't seem worried and says he will activate the R-project all over the island. Wulong is knocking out all the guards and passes a waterfall, behind which is the entrance to the underground base. He is also joined by Jack who helps him defeat the last few guards by telling him that he did him the favor of him when he helped him at the port. He says he's there to look for "The Doctor", apparently the only one able to cure Jane's illness, who shyly peeks out from behind a boulder.

In the meantime Michelle has been defeated by Nina, who however had not registered for the tournament and therefore the Native American receives the authorization that she can continue her journey towards the central tower. Shortly after she meets Kazuya. Despite the injuries suffered in the fight with Nina she decides to fight with him showing great courage and determination even if she is weaker than him. The girl suffers many blows but she refuses to give up because she wants to take revenge on Heihachi even risking to die. Jun arrives there and avoids the worst in Michelle and tries to convince Kazuya to put aside the hatred of her because she is like a demon that is trying to take possession of him. Jun freezes looking around because he has the feeling that something dangerous is coming that has a desire for blood.

Meanwhile, in the underground base, Jack, Wulong and Jane are faced with three robots with a vaguely similar appearance to Jack. Jack and Wulong begin to fight. Jack demonstrates incredible physical strength by even breaking the arms of one of the robots while Wulong defeats one thanks to agility and speed. The third robot is instead defeated by the surprise arrival of Nina who warns them that something dangerous is about to happen on the island. Meanwhile, in the fight Jack suffered a wound in his arm and Wulong realizes that he is not human but he is a robot too. Jack says his name is Jack-2 and tells his story of him shaking hands with the little girl. He says that Jane is a little girl who was orphaned in a battle zone after the Russian government attacked the area with a platoon of Prototype Jack robots (The Robots They Just Confronted). In the midst of the carnage, Jane tried to hide, but she was discovered by a Jack-2 unit. Rather than hurt her, Jack-2 went over her programming and took it upon himself to protect her. At that point Dr. Bosconovitch (Christopher Lloyd) leaves his laboratory (where he is working on a kind of android with the features of a girl even though it seems that this project is still in its infancy) and joins Jack-2 and the others. It turns out that Jack-2 was built by Dr. Bosconovitch a few years earlier in Russia before the doctor was kidnapped and taken to Japan by Heihachi's men and forced to work for them on various types of robots and other experiments. Jane, who had had some sort of fainting before, discovers that Jane has a blood disease and her lymphocytes are very low and starts to treat her saying that she would have a few hours to live. Nina says to hurry up because something dangerous is lurking in the jungle and she has found the mangled corpses of two guards. Dr. Bosconovitch says Lee Chaolan probably released carnivorous reptiloid creature called Alex that were never really tested because they were too dangerous. He then adds that Alex's retinue is also accompanied by two robots called Combot. The doctor says that he created them by order of Heihachi for military purposes but that he then fought to kill them when he realized that they were not tameable but had not been listened to by the leaders of the Mishima.

Meanwhile in the jungle Anna Williams is running in the jungle and comes face to face with Bruce Irvin. She says she is not there to fight. Bruce is attacked from behind by a mysterious creature who takes him to the jungle. Anna doesn't care too much about what happened and infiltrates the underground base. Kazuya and Jun find themselves surrounded by a reptilian creature and two strange robots. Kazuya starts giggling when he sees this strange trio of enemies in front of him despite Jun's attempt to tell him to be careful and not to underestimate them. When he starts attacking them he receives a very powerful punch which he does sends at a tree. He gets up and tries to attack them again and vehemently invites Jun to help him. During the fight Jun and Kazuya are in great difficulty. At a certain point the girl realizes that the two robots know how to perfectly replicate their fighting techniques. Kazuya says it's not possible and fires a blast of energy from her hands but the robot does the same thing causing an explosion that hits Kazuya and slashes his cheek. At this point the evil spirit inside Kazuya takes control and explodes in all its power becoming very powerful, literally managing to tear apart the enemies, having fun doing it. Kazuya runs off towards the tower leaving Jun who is trying to stop him.

Near the Kazuya tower he meets Chaolan and they start fighting. Kazuya unleashes a great force caused by hatred and defeats Lee despite the latter's good skills. At that point Heihachi arrives, Lee asks him for help but Heihachi insults him for his stupidity and weakness. He then he takes him by the arm and throws him away. Heihachi explains that Lee has never understood the true spirit of fighting and can never be a real son of him. At that point Heihachi and Kazuya get into a fighting stance. As Heihachi and Kazuya fight, Lee initiates the facility's self-destruct sequence.

Nina, Jack-2, Bosconovitch and the others in the lab escape. They are joined by Paul Phoenix who joined them. The explosions begin and everything begins to collapse as water begins to enter the underground base. An armored door is closing and would trap them all, condemning them to certain death. First Jack-2 and then Nina do their utmost to keep the door open but it risks crushing them. Jack-2 orders Nina to go and sacrifices himself to keep the door open long enough for Wulong, Bosconovitch, and Paul to escape with Jane. The door crushes Jack-2, slicing him in half, Jane sees the scene and cries in despair.

NMeanwhile on the surface part of the island is exploding and gaps open in the ground. Heihachi is beating up Kazuya, who fails to react until he gives in again to the hatred of him and overwhelms Heihachi with enormous violence, preparing to throw him into a river of lava formed by the explosion of the island resort. Once again, Jun stops him, and this time, Kazuya almost strangles Jun until she sees her cry for him. At that moment something is born inside him and expels the Devil's influence from his mind along with a kind of bright white spirit that goes into the sky destroying the evil part that came out of Kazuya. Jun hopes that the evil part has all come out and that there is no more left inside him as A white feather falls near Kazuya. At that point Heihachi takes advantage of the distraction of the others and tries to knock Kazuya off the cliff, but Jun takes the shot and the three fall together.

Meanwhile, Wulong, Bosconovitch and the others arrive in some kind of small underwater vehicle in which they don't even know if they will all fit. As they are entering a knife touches Wulong as a female voice says that she will not let them go because she will be the only one to leave in that vehicle. Nina immediately recognizes Anna's voice and decides to stay there to fight with her sister. Paul would like to stop with her but Nina orders him to leave telling him that he would find another way to leave the island. Jane watches from the porthole as the two sisters begin to fight until the vehicle drives away driven by Wulong.

The two sisters continue to fight while everything is now flooded. In the meantime, they look for a place that can make them survive. They find a flooded room that has empty cryogenic capsules. The two enter them swimming and lock themselves inside the capsules hoping that sooner or later someone will go and take them out. Meanwhile, during the fall Kazuya has clung to a rock and is holding one arm. He manages with great strength to pull her up and they save themselves together by giving each other a short but intense hug. On the other hand, there is no sign of Heihachi. The underwater vehicle resurfaces, Jane notices a body floating on the surface of the water clinging to something. Wulong recognizes her as Michelle and saves her. Chaolan also survived and retreats to a Caribbean country with an attitude of repentance for the disaster he has wreaked.

A few years later, Jun is alone in a house in a quiet place when her young son, Jin, runs to meet her. He tells her that she wants to hear the rest of the story she was telling him the day before. At one point Jun feels a very strange and bad feeling (probably the omen of Ogre's arrival), but she denies her worries to Jin and they start playing together.

During the credits, images of some wrestlers mysteriously disappeared leaving only their clothes: a white fox mask is found in a forest by some ninjas, a Taekwondo white dobok is on the ground in his gym while two of his young students (Shuwawei and Hwoarang ) mourn the disappearance of their instructor ... (these events relate to what is briefly narrated at one point in Tekken: Amulet of the Gods.)

AFTER THE CREDITS:
Dr. Bosconovitch accompanied by Jane, now grown, (Britt Robertson) arrive on the half-destroyed island to look for something. The scientist recovers some of the work he was doing on the mysterious android he was working on while Jane searches for Jack-2's remains. As they are leaving they notice the cryogenic capsules containing the Williams sisters. Dr. Bosconovitch begins the process of waking them up and leaves with Jane.

"Hopefully when writer Billy Cruder's Tekken franchise makes its theatrical debut next season, it is with a film that isn't overly convoluted with endless characters and too much backstory. The last few of these LRF NOW Tekken releases have been far too complicated for what they are and who they would appeal to - this film is certainly no exception. For a film that appears to be designed to introduce Mishima, it doesn't focus on that very well, with a shocking amount of barely related interludes."
