Reaction: Making the first R-rated Ghost Rider film ever was certainly a risk for the studio since previous adaptations didn't really set the world on fire with more family-friendly ratings. Given that context, we are especially happy with the turnout of this film.

"I had a blast with this Ghost Rider film. It pushes boundaries of the character on film in fun new ways and features perhaps Aaron Paul's best big-screen performance. Ghost Rider may also be the best Marvel work from writer Mark Newton, who keeps this film moving at a lightning fast pace, filled with action, wit and characters you grow to care about. I really hope that it does well enough at the box office with the R-Rating to see more of the character in the future." - Cal Crowe, Washington Globe

"There is definitely some fun to be had in this Ghost Rider film with its visuals and pacing. That said, the stakes for of the plot are never particularly clear, and Ketch/Ghost Rider is a very passive protagonist until the end. He spends the bulk of the story reacting rather than acting, which does not make for a very interesting hero in this critic's opinion." - Frank Estelle, Boca Breeze

"Aaron Paul gives us a fresh lead performance in the superhero genre. We usually get the strapping, heroic types leading these films, but here he is scrappy and angry. Paul's not the only talent that gets to shine though as Ilya Naishuller's stylish LRF debut features a fun collection of supporting performances. There is not a weak link from the cast, with everyone appearing to have fun with the material. It's not a perfect film, but it is a fun, violent thrill ride that would make a great double-feature with Twisted Metal from earlier in the season." - Mike Stotts, Portland Tribune

Rated R for graphic violence, frightening images and language
