An Eye For An Eye: Shortly before release, Jacob Vargas (Peel, Cocaine Cowboys), Jacob Tremblay (One Day More, ID) and Sunny Suljic (Drawing Dion, Mid90s) have been announced as part of the cast of the soon-to-be-released western film, An Eye For An Eye. Vargas will play a gunsmith while Tremblay will play the younger version of Charlie Hunnam's character and Sunny Suljic will play the younger version of Adam Driver's character. Bong Joon-ho is directing the film from a script by newcomer Wyatt Allen.
Cecil: Nicolas Winding Refn's latest film has added Courtney Eaton (Line of Duty, Perfect), Nell Tiger Free (Excalibur, "Too Old To Die Young"), Jamie Clayton ("Sense8", The Snowman), Richard Harmon ("The 100", I Still See You) and Freddie Prinze Jr. ("Punky Brewster", "24") to its ensemble cast. Eaton and Free will play roommates of the main character, played by Awkwafina. Clayton and Harmon will play book store employees, and Prinze Jr. will play a medical examiner. Roy Horne penned the script.
Klondike: Ben Mendelsohn (The Young Pretender, Under Pressure), Michael K. Williams (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Spawn) and Niles Fitch (The Fallout, Miss Virginia) have signed on to Klondike from director Sam Mendes and writers Jimmy Ellis and John Malone. Mendelsohn will play a small-town preacher dismayed by the evils that gold has brought to his town. Williams will play a hopeful prospector, while Fitch will play his son. Chris Pine, Elle Fanning and Dan Stevens lead the cast.
What We Were Promised: Constance Wu (Eleanor & Park, Y: The Last Man), Henry Golding (Kylie Dates New York City, Last Christmas), Pom Klementieff (Uncut Gems, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Steven Yeun (Recursion, The Kiss Quotient) have all signed on to headline the new drama, What We Were Promised. Based on the novel by Lucy Tan, it will tell the story of a Chinese family returning to China after years spent chasing the American dream. Ang Lee (A Life, The Great Beyond) is set to direct the film from an adaptation by new writer Eden Townsend.
Lovestruck: Lucas Jade Zumann (To the Stars, Every Day) has signed on to star in the comedy/drama Lovestruck. He will play a young filmmaker struggling with his lack of interpersonal skills. Cynthia Nixon (The Only Living Boy in New York, James White) has also signed on to the film as his mother. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (The Current War, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) has been hired to direct the film based on an original script by Alex Conn (Watch Hill, High School).
Kazaria: Director Guillermo del Toro (The Mutation, Nexus) and writer Jacob Jones (Princess Natalie, Corndog) have decided to re-team on a new project following their big Season 10 bomb, Nexus. This new film, Kazaria, will depict a political election on an alien world. Billy Magnussen (Oklahoma!, Booster Gold: Lost in Time) will headline the film as the primary candidate. Daniel Kaluuya (Nexus, Mandingos), Ian McKellen (Odette, And Then There Were None) and Colin Firth (Suburban, Isla Vista) have also signed onto the big budget project.
