In Development

Prodigy: Melanie Laurent (Six Underground, Under Pressure) and Andrew Scott (Less, The Killings) will round out the cast of Prodigy - the new film from writer Chad Taylor and director Todd Haynes. Scott will play a man learning of the life of child prodigy Minou Drouet, while Laurent will play an investigative journalist in the Paris-set period piece.

An Eye For An Eye: First it was Jesse James, then it was Jonah Hex, and now Brad Pitt (Hex, Hands on a Hard Body) has signed on to star in another western, An Eye For An Eye. The film hails from director Bong Joon-ho (Parasite, Okja) and rookie writer Wyatt Allen. Pitt will play the leader of a group of bandits. Charlie Hunnam (One Day More, Death in the Shadows) and Adam Driver (Lowell, Oklahoma!) will also star in the film as childhood friends who end up on opposite sides of the law as adults.

Dan Star: Dave Chappelle (Chi-Raq, A Star Is Born) will make his LRF debut and his first starring film role in over 20 years in Dan Star. He will play a famous stand-up comedian trying to navigate a mid-life crisis. Richard Linklater (Hands on a Hard Body, Eleanor & Park) has been tapped to direct the film from a script by Alex Conn (Watch Hill, Chris, Travis & Juliet).

Cecil: Director Nicolas Winding Refn (Excalibur, Kite) and writer Roy Horne (Painkiller Jane, Excalibur) are set to re-team for the third time on a true-story mystery about a tourist who seemingly vanishes from a Los Angeles hotel. Awkwafina (The Farewell, The Kiss Quotient) will play the tourist while Desmond Harrington (Life on Mars, Perfect Blue) and Gregg Henry (Office Uprising, Stand!) will play the detectives investigating the circumstances of her disappearance.

The Cry of the Night Lady: Director Lars von Trier (The House That Jack Built, Melancholia) is set to make his LRF debut with a new thriller from writer Meirad Tako (The Journey, 1965). Emanuela Postacchini ("The Alienist: Angel of Darkness", Better Days), Vincent Gallo (Essential Killing, Loosies) and Giulio Berruti (Downhill, Magical Nights) are set to star in the lower-budgeted feature. Posacchini will play an adult actress who is kidnapped by a crazed producer (played by Gallo). Berruti will play Posacchini's police officer brother who begins investigating her disappearance.

Floyd Monroe: Taylor Kitsch (Hawkworld, The Raid), Ethan Hawke (Genetic Descent, The Devil's Revenge) and Jodie Comer (Attraction/Deception, Gambit and Rogue) have signed on to star in Floyd Monroe. Kitsch will play the title character, a famous rock star who realizes those around him have kept him too sheltered from the outside world. Hawke will play a mentor figure to Kitsch, while Comer will play Kitsch's love interest. Sofia Coppola (Black Dublin, On the Rocks) is set to direct the film based on an original script by Jacob Jones (Princess Natalie, The Youngest Hart).
