If the Round 3 box office was rough, I don't know how I'd describe this round. Here's The Roundup....
3. Prodigy
The film is a bit too cold at times, like it is keeping us at arm's length, but the story itself is pretty interesting (and even inspired me to do a little reading of my own on the subject)/
2. Casey Affleck
Casey Affleck has always excelled at playing these kinds of unstable characters so he was a good fit for the role. I may have hated the character, but he at least kept it entertaining and somewhat realistic with his talents.
1. Mo Buck
Mo Buck has been an institution in LRF since Season 1, so it was weird not having a Mo Buck-penned film last season. Welcome back, Mo!
3. Profits
If you thought the lack of profits were bad, Round 4 has a message for you: "Hold my beer." In just these last two rounds, the studio has lost over $88 million. That's not good.
2. Firestorm
Firestorm was mess of a movie. Way more characters than it needed and it was way longer than necessary. What was the point of Mister Terrific or Killer Frost? They had little to do with the plot and seemed to be there just for the writers to commit character overload.
1. Box Office
After a couple really strong rounds at the box office, the studio is now suffering from two losing rounds at the box office. Next round also doesn't sound like the type of round to turn things back around - that looks like it may have to wait until later in the season. Thankfully things are still looking better than last season.
